Hey guys,
I'm kinda new here and trying to understand how you guys are applying for Canadian PR?
I mean you guys hired an attorney or just by yourself?
How does it affect the possibility of getting Invitation and move to Canada? I mean if you have all the documents and required scores and everything, still we need attorney?

Btw I'm in US currently.

Thanks in advance!!

Its your choice. You can file yourself or hire an attorney.

If all your documents are straightforward then it's a simple process and you can do it yourself.
If it's complicated like having medical issues, criminal history etc attorney might help.

It's more of a vote. I vote for doing it yourself. If not for anything, at least to instantly know what the current status of your application is without involving a third party.

Highly suggest to do it self if your application is straight forward. This way, you also have full control on all stages your application is put through.

Who applies your application has by no means any impact on you getting an invitation or PR.

If you go with an attorney, you are still required to do most of the works.

If you decide to get attorney, try to get a good one. When I first started, knowing nothing, I was introduced an attorney. That guy kept saying my wife and I couldn't get ITA because of our jobs (accountant & lawyer). No one wants accountant & lawyer in Canada. But he could arrange job offers for us. The processing fee is 8k USD each and 20k USD job offer each :D

Thank you all for your opinions.
I think I would do myself. I'm in the early process and I hope it will go smoothly.

Just now I checked the CRS tool and I got only 417 with CLB 9 (not appeared, but hoping to get). I know it's not sufficient, Is there anything I can do to improve my score?
I've done my masters in US and working since 8 years. I don't think my wife will get minimum scores in language tests, so I didn't include in the CRS, but looks like now she MUST take the test.

that's a different issue. try switching it up with your wife as primary. you can also check other streams besides FSW

Switching primary applicant can't help as my wife doesn't have work experience. But, if we switch my wife may get good score for age & education and remaining aspects won't get more points.
The only otherway I could think of is PNP. Not sure how long will it take, but that is the only way I could qualify for EE.

do you think of any other way of applying?
