Hi friends,

I have applied a Work Visa thru my Lawyer from Edmonton (Alberta) around May 2018
My Employer is awaiting for a Call from the Immigration (as told to ME)

I was juz wondering how long it takes for the whole process and wht will be the next step after he receives the call

can someone plz update

Thanks

The employer isn't usually called as part of the work permit process.

So wht is the due course after i have sent them the signed Employment contract

The employer must obtain an approved LMIA and then you need to apply for a work permit after the LMIA has been approved. Are you sure you're not being scammed? What was the job offered to you? Did it include food and accommodations?

i am sure am not been scammed, as i haven't paid anything until now. moreover the job offer is from one of my Childhood frnds company only. might be some lack of communication is wht has happened.

lets assume it how u are telling. The employer gets the LMIA and i apply for a work permit from my home country, how long this whole process will take till i obtain a Work Permit.

thanks :)

Has your employer gotten a LMIA number yet?

Ask your employer to call Service Canada. Looks like you’re totally unfamiliar with the process
It’s service Canada that calls the employer not the embassy

Well the employer applies to get a positive LMO first. When he gets the LMO approved then you can apply for a work permit. The whole process take somewhere between 6-12 weeks

Yeah service Canada issues LMOs
Once you get it approved you apply for a work permit with the copy of approval letter and other documents

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t
It’s only them who calls the employer.
Ask your employer to check with your application

yeah definitely/ will check with the employer.. it seems like the whole process will take some more time... :)
and wt is the processing time for the work visa once i apply it from my home country (india)
