Hi did you get an answer to this question?
My husband talked to IRCC agent from call center and they said that VO may ask for biometrics those who applied before July 31st or may not ask...I guess nobody knows for sure yet and we just have to wait and see. My suggestion is that they will be asking for biometrics at the time of passport submission even those who applied before July 31st.

Wow! Thanks for this. What about people whose applications have been approved but haven't landed yet?

I’m pretty sure those who already got visas in their passports and COPRs won’t need to get the biometrics done as it says on the site that it’s for people who only apply for visas, not for those who already got them...

:D that makes sense. Was overthinking...

if you have not got visa & COPR yet, but a decision is made (dm) for your application, you still may not need biometrics

Yes, exactly as it would mean that the processing of application was completed. But again it will all depend on the visa officer to decide if they had to send PPR along with the biometrics request or just PPR alone.

Thank youu!
No time at all, sent it on june 27, had it dropped off at my house on july 9, that with the long weekend in between.
I’ve an appointment scheduled with the ircc office in etobicoke for the 24th, that’s where the landing will happen :)

Awesome! Congratulations again :)

Finally, a real update -- background check just changed to "we are processing your background check"! Eligibility review is also still in process. Is it fair to assume this means we've passed eligibility or could they be working on both at the same time? Our VO is Nairobi, and they still haven't sent us the medical request (we applied with an upfront medical from early 2017, which expired a few months ago while we were waiting, so I'm not sure whether they can waive that for us or make us do it again -- at one point it changed to passed, then quickly went back to the default message!).

Whatever this means, I'm thrilled to see some movement! Our application was received in Mississauga on December 27th, but the visa office only began to review the application at the beginning of July.

EDIT: We just got the medical request this afternoon!

Hi!! I have sponsored my husband who is british. We are currently living together with two kids in Dubai. I have applied back in Oct 19. On IRCC website in GCkey sign in it says they have recieved application on Dec 19. The timeline is,
Applied: Oct 19
Recieved: Dec 19
Medical and police certificate: send it on March 16
VO: Mississauga and will stay there
BCG started processing: July 19
Looks like 19 is my lucky number lol!
Any idea how long it takes to get the PPR? And the other question is: my husband passport was expiring on Feb 06 2019 which is 6 months from now. So he send a request for new one. Do we have to send both old and new passports when PPR is requested? And how long do they give to send the passport in?
Any help would be great
