No they didn't. A week before my medical was going to expire, I sent them an email asking for status of my application and told them my medical was expiring. They renewed it for an additional year. I didn't see any kind of update in my CIC for this. But saw in GCMS notes.

Hi kanwar, that is some long wait. Btw do you know why your application took such a long time. Do you have an extensive travel history.

If your medicals are about to expire within the next month and your application is under process, you can raise a CSE and request IRCC to re-new your meds. It is discretionary, but those who request, usually get an extension. Those you do not, rarely get an extension.

The choice is entirely yours.
