Please those that got medical request and eventually got their ppr, I need to confirm if the Visa issued is still valid for one year or do they use their discretion to give validity period. Thanks

That's too much for security screening
They must have forgotten about your file.
Contact the office of immigration minister about this.
In my point of view security screening should not exceed 6 months which is enough to go for a deep background check.

Nationality: Pakistan.

No they didn't. A week before my medical was going to expire, I sent them an email asking for status of my application and told them my medical was expiring. They renewed it for an additional year. I didn't see any kind of update in my CIC for this. But saw in GCMS notes.
