Hi,

I have the following timeline:

  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 16, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 4, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on December 5, 2017.

When I applied I was living in Mississauga and since December 2017 i moved to Kitchener. I was under the impression my application will be transferred to Kitchener but it is still in Mississauga. Since February, I always get the answer that everything is done on my file (including background) and its ready to be invited for test. Recently, I called and they said they have a new experimental procedure in which a visa officer will call me to answer my questions (who would have more information than a call centre agent). I received call from a program manager in Citzenship office and he mentioned the same thing and its ready for interview.

I need you suggestion -- Should I transfer my file to Kitchener ? office mentioned that it may take 6 weeks for Missisauge to transfer my file to Kitchener and it i will be in the fresh in the Queue in Kitchener.

Not sure what to do -

Didn't you change your address with IRCC when you moved to Kitchener?

Love the stats, its great to see Scarborough office moving steadily catching up with the other offices (from an Oath point of view). Hope everyone waiting gets their invite before the end of this month..so that all can begin a new chapter in life as proud Canadian citizens!

I agree with you. It raises frustration. But then I asked why am I putting a time scarcity on my application. Even if takes me two years to get my citizenship, I am ok with it. I am not in race with anyone. It is not like if I get it sooner than you, I get any special treatment or trophy. It is not stopping me from accomplishing any of my life's priorities, activities or goals.

I understand people are in situation where they have to go out for few months and nothing to take away from them. I am only speaking for myself. But, I found it frustrating only when I allowed it to become frustrating. People are counting days, and some are counting seconds as if they don't get it in next few months, they will loose their status in Canada. We attract what we think the most. If we are thinking frustration, delays etc, that is what we attract.

Have patience, enjoy the summer, get busy achieving your goals and citizenship will come ! :)

Best wishes !

Your wishes worked, thank you! Finally some movement.

Test invite received today
Test date: August 13, 2018

Please update the spreadsheet. Now I'm off to study ;)

Hi,

We received the oath invite email yesterday for Aug. 10. Last time I checked online (Tuesday), the application status was still showing " in process".
Please update the spreadsheet.

Here is a question: My wife is outside Canada until mid September. I was also planning to travel from mid Aug. to mid Sept., but I have not bought my flight tickets yet. So we can do the following:
1. She emails IRCC and postpones her ceremony, but I attend the ceremony and postpone my travel (would require me to stay ~2 weeks after ceremony to get the passport).
2. I go on with my travel plans, and both of us postpone the ceremony to after mid September.

For 1, I suppose there is no requirement that all family members who applied together must attend the ceremony at the same date?

Any suggestions and comments based on experience would be appreciated.

Thanks and good luck all.
