Visa Refusal

Hi,

Hi,

I am in the post-ITA stage and am completing my application for submission. What does one do when he is not sure of anything and has or wants to go by his gut feeling just to be on the safe side.

I remember that 7-8 years ago I had applied for an Indian visit visa but was refused on grounds that are not known to me. Now there is not stamp on my passport or any document through which I can confirm my suspicions but it is just a gut feeling that that had happened.

I called the Indian High Commission and they say that from 2011 or 2012 their system had become automated and they can only search in their records after that. They did and it showed no rejection. It is possible that I may have applied before that and face a rejection which even they cannot look.

I also called the agency through which I had applied and even they are not able to find any record against my name. It is completely possible that I do not disclose the fact that I was refused an Indian visit visa and I can get away with it but the risk of not disclosing and they finding out is a serious one and they might consider as a misrepresentation.

Therefore I think that I should mention this fact and honestly state the situation in one sentence such as 'I cannot clearly recall but I may have been denied a visa to visit India in the year 2010-11.'

Am I doing the right thing?
Regards.

Thanks for the responses.

What is the difference between these two questions then in the 'Statutory Questions' section and in my case should my answer be Yes to both or Yes to one and No to the other.

i) Has Mr. abc been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de selection du Quebec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

ii) Has Mr. abc ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

Frankly I don't see any difference between these two questions as both cover visitor visa (which is relevant to my case) and both cover Canada or any other country so do both apply to me?

Regards.
