I landed in at the end of May 2018 and I applied for OSAP as I planned on going to Niagara College. The financial aid officer said that I'm not eligible for OSAP as my wife and I haven't lived here for 12 consecutive months. She is also canadian.

I landed in July 2017 and got OSAP for a post graduate program that started in September. We are a family of 5.

Hi, were you not deemed to have the financial resources to to fund your own studies from the funds that you migrated to Canada with? Or do you disclose that you have zero to minimal other assets?

It didn't seem to affect much as the primary factors for estimating the OSAP amounts were the income of current and preceding years, spouse income, and dependents. I was not working at the time in Canada and income from current year was just for the 5 months I worked overseas prior to landing in Canada. Also most of my funds are in retirement accounts not savings/chequings.
