I wonder how many people are waiting for DM for more than a week or so after taking the test. Are they all waiting for background checks?
My initial impression was that IRCC doesn't do an extensive background check for citizenship applications, but that has proven to be wrong.
However not sure if it's going to be as long as PR applications or not. I've been waiting for 35 days now (since May 30th).
Does anyone have much information about this?

I've been waiting 66 days in IP after test for DM. Called IRCC and they said BG checks were completed a week ago, but still no DM for me. I think it was moving fast for a while and now it's just slowing down for everyone.

Stay strong my friend; a lot of people don’t appear for their scheduled oath dates due to different circumstances and every effort is made to accommodate them.. maybe that’s the delay..

They do all kind of checks:
Background
Criminality
Security
Residency

Not enough resources; too many files..

GTA is slow as heck. When the rules changed from 4/6 to 3/5, all of a sudden a ton of people became eligible to apply immediately (especially in the GTA). So they did so and hence a flood of applications likely overwhelmed IRCC/CIC.

On top of my head, they do all kinds of security and background checks, ask for additional documents if something is missing and request for Fingerprints if you're chosen for it.

Have patience. You'll get your test date soon
