Thanks for sharing all your updates, really helpful.

My profile got updated as MEP today. But the status showing for background check is not applicable. What does this mean.

Mine was the same

Biometrics-(We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.)
Background check(Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.) before that it was NA

Final decision(Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.)

You are in IP1. But give it sometime or maybe couple of days your medical will change to you passed the medical exam.

It means you are in IP1 stage, but yet to receive MEP. Your situation is same as mine.

My application went into IP1 too without passing medicals. How are you sure MEP is right around the corner? Have u seen other similar cases?
Also, any idea how long it could take to move from IP1 to NA2?

Well, from what I've seen, MEP doesn't really influence much. It's done by Health Canada, so not even by CIC, and can be done while other stuff is going on too. If you look at the trackers virtually no one haven't passed medicals after 3 weeks to a month. Furthermore, if you look at cases that have gotten PPR slow or fast, there is no pattern with medical. It doesn't seem like a slow medical slows down your application and the same with a fast medical. So am really not too worried about it. Just happy that they started my background check

Regarding how long it takes from IP1 to NA2 I really have no idea at all. That seems to vary enourmously from case to case. You just have to wait it out

The BG status for IP1 is 'Your application is in progress, we will send you a message once we start background check!'.
How do you say your background check has started?
If your background check has started and it says so in your BG status, then you are in IP2..

Yeah, sorry, worded that poorly. I just meant that they have opened my application and started the process! For example, they asked me for an additional document

Yeah.. thats true.
I am in the same boat with you.. I too received ADR request.
Now hoping that it will start moving fast and not get stuck in IP1..

What did you receive ADR for? Mine was schedule A. Even though I had already attached on in the LEO...
