Send the old form of IMM 5406 instead of the new one

Hello everyone,

I have sent my application to CIC last month. Today, I have found that CIC issued the new form of IMM 5406 on 02-2018 but my IMM 5406 sent to CIC is 09-2013. CIC just changed the position of sections on the new form, the information is the same. Anyone faces this issue? Can this be a reason for a rejection or a return?

Create your Gckey online account through your Generic form exact information . Throgh which, you can find your Application Number.
Then you can send your complete IMM5406 Form with mentioning reason trough CIC Webform, by the help of that Application number. There is an option to upload documents in second page, last option.

Thanks so much for your help Ashuindian. My application has been delivered to CIC on April, 16, and I do not have AOR yet. Can I create Gckey account and upload file without AOR and UCI number? Thanks,

I tried 5 times but the system is unable to find my application. I also entered the number of applicant is 1. Note that my application was delivered to CIC on April 16 : (

I have similar situation like yours. the new form of IMM 5406 (05-2018), and the IMM 5406 that I sent to CIC is 02-2018. I sent my application on May 16.
so I hope there are some grace period. I'm not sure how long is the grace period usually is.

Hi I’m just curious how did your application go ? Was it returned? I’m having similar issue with the generic form,I sent in the 06-2019 version only to find out today that there’s a new one 7-2019 and my wife Already sent our application today 5th of July, and it’s an Outland sponsorship which took time to gather documents and also the new generic form 7-2019 is exactly the same, no new questions nothing changed...should this be a cause for worry ? It’s just 5 days , will my application be returned ?
