Do you know wherein I should be changing my address? I’m not thinking about the landing as yet, just about sending about the passport for the visa stamping. My ppr email did say under a ‘residents of canada’ headline that if I were to have a mailing address in canada, I could send it to the cpc Ottawa and no further instructions. I’m wondering if this might be applicable to me since i’m staying here and I do have a mailing address but I’m not absolutely sure if I qualify as a resident as per the cic definition.

Hm, I’m not exactly sure but maybe on ECAS? Or maybe you could try emailing the VO and explaining them your situation and see what they have to say. But I’m also concerned that if they take longer to reply it’d just waste your time right. The lawyer didn’t tell us anything about sending the passport part he just told us that we’d have to go to some government office there in Canada. Honestly I’m also still confused about this whole procedure of sending passport from there but very curious to find out if someone else has done it before.

Yes, looks like it is currently not functioning. Was fine when I used is some weeks back. Hope it comes back again soon. Which area are you in? I could list some for Canada, BC if this helps.

Hi everybody! How goes the waiting process? It's hard, isn't it.

Today my mind got running away on me and I started thinking, "Oh my gosh, what if after waiting all this time it gets declined?" I don't think it will. We've known each other 11 years, gave all information requested and have of course been honest. But it's just that looming thought which I haven't even wanted to consider, the what if.

It's hard being in the waiting stage especially when nothing is sure. I am using the spreadsheet and have added my case to compare/contrast with other cases with the same VO, just as a point of reference. And really, it's moving fairly quickly... in my case, we're at 6 1/2 month mark since we applied. But that thought did cross my mind today, which spooked me. :/

I just got a message for an update on my file, but I can't quite tell what the update is.

There's a new message and it mentions: processing time, interview (if required - no change there yet), authorization to release personal information, and "planning ahead" with mention of pre-arrival "if application is approved".

Has anybody else received this? Do you know if this is pre-arrival? It must mean somebody has looked at the file. Or maybe it's AOR2? Any feedback please and thank you!

Nevermind, I see. It's "Acknowledgement of Receipt" but from the VO, so I guess AOR2... even though I thought Mexico City doesn't send those.

It touches on the categories I mentioned, but it isn't very clear to me in terms of its purpose. In the message section it's titled "Acknowledgement of Receipt". I took a screen cap but can't upload an image here.
