Is there anyone who got a PR e-mail and is coming from a visa exempt country?

What does the e-mail contain? Request for two paper photos only?

Let’s connect here!

Hi there,

I am from a visa exempt country, but no PPR yet. You are one of the lucky ones! Congratulations!

From what I have been reading here on forums yes, in our case it should be just a request for 2 photos and then you get a CORP to enter Canada as a PR.

Do share your experience though.

Hi, canada_2018! Thanks for your reply! Hope you get your PPR soon. Do you have any idea how COPR will be sent?
No idea to be honest, but I think it should be sent back to you. Maybe there is an option to use a pre-paid courier to speed up the process? Does your letter from IRCC give you any options?

This is the letter. Nothing has been mentioned about sending back documents to me or using a pre-paid courier. The photos were delivered by a courier using one way service. Probably I will wait till the end of month and contact the VO.

This refers to your application for permanent residence. In order to continue the processing of your application, please provide us with the items listed below:

- Two (2) photos of yourself respecting precise specifications that can be found at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

Please print and take the specification sheet with you to the photographer. You should ensure that when you print the sizing for the image comes out correctly at 50 x 70 mm. This requires setting the printer settings to “Actual Size”.

Please make sure the dimensions are correct, the background is white and that they meet all the specifications as described.

Within 15 days of the date of this letter, you must send the required documents / information to the Immigration Section of the Embassy of Canada. If the documents / information have not been received within the specified time limit, your application will be assessed with the available information and may be refused.

In order to make the best use of limited resources, this office will not confirm receipt of the items requested above. It is your responsibility to use a secure and reliable method for the delivery or transmission of all required items. You will be contacted when the processing of your application reaches the next stage.

Yes, sounds like a good idea. You should contact them soon. Out of curiosity what is your visa office and when did you send your photos.

Plus from their letter it looks like they will contact you once the decision has been made i.e. your CORP issued.

You will be contacted when the processing of your application reaches the next stage.

It is strange though that the letter doesnt look like a PR confirmation. My brother had a similar request for his passports though (he needed a visa), but in the end he did get a visa stamp in his passport and a CORP. So I am sure you will have yours back soon :)

I hope I understood the letter correctly and sent the photos about two weeks ago. I will definitely contact them at the end of the month.

I am from a visa exempt country and have landed. I think you have been asked for new photos in support of your PR application. It could be that the original photos were not to the desired standard. The PPR letter looks like this https://grayninjaguidetocanada.blog/2016/09/27/passport-request-ppr-golden-email/ . You should be able to check your application progress online.

The status of my application has not changed since Feb 27th, 2018 when the background status moved to IP2. As it is written on the forum, it does not mean anything as the processing of my application has already exceeded six months, it is even more than seven months :)))) As to the photos, all submitted photos have been according to the requirements. That is why I was surprised when only photos were requested.

I got another e-mail saying that the processing of my application has been completed and that I need to send a courier to pick up my documents. I did so and I am again waiting for the courier to deliver the documents to me. But the pre-paid return label does not show any move. It has been a week so far. I hope I receive the documents soon and put an end to the waiting and start preparing for the big move :)
