Hello folks - I need your urgent help about “the proof of intention to reside in Canada”.

My wife and I are living together outside of Canada -- I am a Canadian citizen & sponsoring my wife (outland spouse sponsorship). My wife recently received the following email from our VO immigration officer asking for proof of my intention to reside in Canada.

“It appears that your sponsor has been living outside of Canada for some years and therefore we require proof of his intention to reside in Canada. Before I make a final decision, you have the opportunity to submit additional information that addresses my concerns.”

However, regarding my intention to return & reside in Canada, I already submitted some information (listed below) at the time of mailing our application, and I have no idea what else I can do, any suggestions? Should I buy a one-way ticket to Canada?? Thank you.

Here is the list of items I mentioned at the time of applying:

Tax: I explained that, although I have been away from Canada for number of years, I have been actively filing my taxes for all these years and this indicates my intention to return to Canada.

My savings in Canada: I submitted my Canadian Bank statement indicating that I have been planning for my future and saving some money for my final return to Canada.

Intend to buy an apartment: I enclosed some realtors’ email.

Renting a place: I enclosed some of my friends’ email in which I asked them if they have/know someone who is willing to rent out a place to us.

No employment in my home country: I mentioned that I have no employment in my home country & have planned to come back to Canada with my wife.

Return-to-Canada checklist: I created a return-to-Canada checklist & submitted it along with our application.

Medical insurance coverage: For our initial medical coverage, I enclosed some insurance companies’ quotes.

Planning for employment in Canada: I explained my plan for finding employment in Canada.

Informed my friends of my return to Canada: I enclosed emails in which I mentioned to some of my friends that I am coming back to Canada.

Air tickets: I enclosed an email from travel agency manifesting that I was asking for air-tickets prices.

Being together: I explained that I want to be with my wife, and I cannot leave her alone – she needs me to be beside her - she comes to Canada if I travel with her at the same time.

Agreed. You're cluttering up the discussion board and posting in threads that do not apply to you/your situation. It would behoove you to be more patient.
Or hire an immigration lawyer for an immediate response.

Back on topic... Just looking at what you submitted, I believe that those are only intentions and planning. I think they ask for some form of commitment (like a rental agreement, a guaranteed job offer, return ticket). Basically, they need to know how you will organize your future return to Canada.
