hey, thanks. I guess I should apply it then to be on the safer side. I just received my ITA yesterday so I have time. It will take about a month in my country to issue a new one.
Don't wait, submit your application, you can apply for the birth certificate in parallel and submit this as a CSE later on...

Are you sure a birth certificate is necessary? On this comprehensive list from CIC, it is not mentioned, unless you have to prove relationships to siblings or relationship to your kids:

I did not either, but my lawyer did ask for it as part of the doc submission.

I think your lawyer is wrong then. The above link is the official list from CIC, it is not on there, thus it must not be needed. Unless you need to prove relationship to dependents or siblings.

I agree as per the link shared we don't need a birth certificate unless we are claiming sibling points or are showing dependents. I guess none of us want to take any risk! Has anyone got PR approval without uploading birth certificate??

I am sure they have. If you search this forum for "birth certificate", every single one is advised that is not necessary unless you have dependent children og proving relationship to siblings.

However, if you applied through OINP, apparently you need a birth certificate.

Hi,

I have query regarding proof of sibling relationship. I don’t have birth certificate to prove the relationship. On the other hand, passport does have our parents name but it doesn’t have middle name in my passport whereas my brother has first name middle last name. I am doubtful what to do in this situation. Can anyone help?
Anyone????

I can't help with request, but I have a suggestion for how you might get an answer. Go to facebook and find this group: ask kubeir - express entry / canada pr

Ask in there. There's a lawyer answering questions, and he's pretty good at responding.

Hi,

Yesterday I received an ITA.

I need to know if it at any point during the application process it will it required of me to provide proof of existing relatives in Canada.

My spouse's mother's sister lives there with her family for the past 30 years. Will she be considered family?

PS: While filing application for ITA I did not mention any existing relatives in Canada as I could not associate them with any of the provided categories (like direct siblings, or decendents).
