Just send your original marksheet photocopies to university for verification and once they return it to you then send it to WES.

Thank you all for above posts and replies. It has cleared my confusion a lot. I have a doubt and sorry for posting it here but as it is related to Gujarat University,I thought people here can help me. I completed my bachelor's in 2009 without any backlogs etc and I have Passing Certificate indicating the year 2009, also all my last year mark sheet has the year 2009 but my degree certificate shows the year 2011 as I applied for and got my degree certificate in 2011. Is this going to create any trouble or problem in my ECA or CRS points etc?? Thank you for your patience.

Sharing my experience here so that it would be helpful to someone.

My documents were initially rejected by WES because I sent them a transcript which wasn't issued by the GUJARAT UNIVERSITY but was verified by the university (GU don't issue any transcripts they just do the verifications) so don't send them a transcript which is issued by the college or some other place (usually your college will ask you to go to some nearby printer shop where they will convert marksheet into transcript and college will do signature and stamps on it). I know it's all f***ed up but that is how you get your transcript.

Basically, WES is looking for your MARKSHEETS of all semester that is verified by the university.
WES does not need your degree verification they just need your marksheets that is verified by GUJARAT UNIVERSITY, you can just send them a color print out of your degree certificate and it's need not be in sealed envelop or sent by the university.

Obviously, GUJARAT UNIVERSITY won't send the sealed envelope to WES. You'll have to collect it from University and courier it to WES and make sure that you let courier person know that they write sender as Gujarat University and not your name.

Hello, my current account status says "On hold" and they are waiting for the institution(GU) to verify my documents. The sealed envelope I sent had all the three documents verified ( Marksheets, Degree certificate & Transcript) It reached WES on 5th may and on 6th June the status showed up "On Hold" they will send the documents to GU and wait for their response for 7 weeks and if they don't respond after 7 weeks they will again send the verification request. It's annoying.! It's already been a month ! do I have to wait for 7 more weeks ? what if GU didn't respond ? have you been through this trauma ? what shall I do preliminarily in order to save my time in the later part ? Kindly shade some light on this issue. Thank you.

Oh is it?? I was not aware of that. Let’s see what they do now in my case. There is WES thread on the forum where people share their timeline, maybe you can ask someone there about this.

My status has also been updated as 'hold'.

What's your current status? How many days did Gujarat university take to reply to them?

They will reply don't worry.. be patient. I know it's frustrating but just hold on

I went to Gujarat university to check with them. I was surprised to find that they do not reply verification request by email. They only reply after (if) they receive document verification request from Wes in physical form. After the receipt they take their own sweet time to reply and that reply is sent to WES by post.

Hi all,
Today I got update for WES that my transcripts were rejected. Below is the reason and further instructions from them.

Reason: The document received and attested from the institution was a college-issued transcript. WES only accepts university issued and attested marksheets. We do not accept university attested transcripts issued by the college.

Instructions: Please arrange for your academic documents to be sent directly to WES by the institution or examining body that awarded your degree/diploma.

Now I confused because Gujarat University does not issue transcripts just by themselves. They will first ask for the transcripts from the college.
Pls help.

Procedure I followed
Step1: I prepared transcripts format from a guy in a Xerox store
Step2: I went to my college with those transcripts format and college admin issued a set of transcripts unsealed.
Step3: I went with college issued transcripts to Gujarat University , filled few forms and submitted required documents alongwith the original college issued transcripts.
Step4: after 15 days I went back to University to collect my transcripts. At that time I check my transcripts, they just put Gujarat University stamp besides college stamp in the college issued transcripts and there was sign of registrar alongwith his stamp. Below the college principal stamp and sign. Thereafter it was sealed and stamped in front of me in Gujarat University envelope.
Step5: I courier the sealed Gujarat University envelope to WES for ECA

Pls help me with what I have done wrong. Moreover what corrective action should I take.??

So what did you do to resolve the situation? I am in a similar mess and need urgent help. Please advise. I did my B.E. from SVIT Vasad which was in 2006 affiliated to GU. I have college-issued and college-attested Transcripts with me. Should I also send marksheets? They should be attested by GU or by college?

Hi Tapan,

i have gone through so many threads / forums about WES requirements that it is really confusing.

Some people say just send plain photocopies of marksheets; some say Transcript should be attested both by College and University and marksheets attested by GU; some say transcript by college only (and not by GU) and marksheets by GU etc. etc.

Could anyone who has done B.E. from Gujarat University affiliated college guide?
