Hi all,

So I'm new to the forum. I am Canadian citizen and sponsoring my wife in Pakistan. My wife is in Pakistan. Its Outland application. I sent all the documents to Mississauga, Ontario office on May 25, 2018. Still no confirmation. My questions are as follows:

• I tried to link my application but it didn't. Will it work after I receive my confirmation?
  
• I saw the following file with information about others. What is the benefit of entering the information in the file

• What is the WhatsApp group for people who applied in May 2018? and what is the benefits of joining the group?

IRCC sends acknowledgement of receipt (AOR1) for a complete Spousal Sponsorship application package within 6 to 8 weeks......so expect AOR1 around July 6 to 20th.

You will be able to link your application to your online account after you have received AOR1.

You will be able to link your account when you receive what's called the AOR (acknowledgement or receipt) this will contain your UCI and Application Number. You can use this information to help link your application to your GCKey (online account) you receive this about one month after your application has arrived in Mississauga. You will be able to use online services such as

This is called ECAS. Simple terms you can use it to track your process and also receive alerts when IRCC send you emails it will show up here. An example will be "We received your medical results" when you go for medicals and other things like "we sent you correspondence on xxx date" This means check your emails and keep an eye out in your letter box for information !!

This is GCKey or online services. You will use this to securely send documents to IRCC and links your paper based application online. You will be able to sign up to this once you receive your first letter from Immigration as it contains your UCI and Application number.

The spreadsheet is a fantastic way to track not only your application but see how long its taking for others in the same month as your application (and other months), how long on average your Visa Office takes to process each stage of your application and so on. I would recommend you add your information when it becomes available to you.

I haven't joined WhatApp groups so can't comment on what they are. Something these young folk or tech savvy people will answer soon enough!

You can view the processing times of your visa office by viewing the spreadsheet contributed by other members . that spreadsheet is not made by IRCC.

as for contacting them? wait for the 12 months is up or getting close . they are working on your file up till then and will contact you when decision is made

You should have atleast received Medical exam request and after that transfer of file to your VO

Yes. I did the medical exams on July 9, 2018. On 26 of July I received an email my file was in Rome (VO). Since that time nothing else, nothing changed. Still reviewing my eligibility.
