When submitting our app we were requested to submit POF as well. But after I received GCMS notes, there is a line saying:
POF criteria: Not met
POF exempt: Yes

That is really good. It means it doesn't matter if you meet the POF criteria or not you will be exempted.

Had you mentioned POF in your application & then not sent it? I am under impression that POF will be needed if you have mentioned that amount even if you are CEC (exempt).

That doesn't make sense. If it is not needed under CEC, it is not needed under CEC. It is, after all, assessed by a visa officer and he/she can see clearly whether you would require POF or not. Entering any amount if you are invited under CEC should not make any difference.

If I put "0" in proof of funds and do I have to write down a letter explaining I am getting an invitation under CEC?

put 0 and then write in your LOE that you're invited under CEC

Hello Experts,

I am wondering if someone could explain.I know I don't have to provide any proof of funds if I am applying under CEC (only the letter of explanation ), but I am going to apply with my spouse so in that case do I need to provide any settlement funds/POF for her ? If yes then what would be the amount for that settlement funds ? She can provide her bank statement from back home by converting into CAD funds.But not sure whether I have to show funds for her or not.I am currently employed , not sure my pay stubs are enough for both of us.
