Urgent question about oci card for Indian orgin citizens

I'm planning to travel to India urgently after getting Indian visa and planning to apply for oci from India as I have to stay in india for indefinite time due to personal reasons.
1) did anyone applied oci from India and if so we need to leave India and return back if we initially entered on visa and want to stay further?
2) does surrenderring Indian passport cancels all our previous Indian ids like aadhar and voters id?
I really appreciate if anyone can help me with details for the above questions and many thanks in advance!!!

#2 Aadhaar would still be valid. Anyone (including foreign citizens) residing in India can have Aadhaar. You cannot vote, so I believe voter ID is no longer valid.
