Thank you for your positive support!
I just got off the phone with cic. Apparently nothing is going on related to my medical and the validity is still Dec 2018. Agent is not sure what caused the update. However, my security check has completed. but the officer is still reviewing my recently uploaded PCC.
Hope PPR arrives soon for all of us!
Means this medical related status is just a glitch for both of us :)

I had my upfront done March 2017. The medical reassessment was initiated in December 2017 in the back scene.

no, they didn't ask me for a re-do. Maybe you could email Ottawa asking if you need to re-do medical now. They may reply you with your actual medical validity date. I found out this way before I received my GCMS notes.

I didn't dig very deep on this but it seems on the surface that IRCC usually extends medicals for inland and US applicants. When it comes to re-do requests, it seems that they usually wait till your application is ready to be finalized before sending out the re-do requests.
I am no experts on this though. Please read my comments with necessary doubts. LOL:)

Hello,
How did you get in touch with CIC?

I called them at 1-613-944-4000, though it took multiple try to finally speak to an agent.
My husband and I submitted our application on June 27, 2017. We also submitted the last additional document on september 14,2017. We took the medical test by the end of march 2017, so I suppose that it has expired. And, last week we got an update "you do not need the medical exam" instead of "you passed the medical exam". We've already contacted CIC by mail (before the update) but we didn't get much information. They only said that they will tell us if we need to take the medical test once again. I am so confused and frustrated, we've been waiting for more than 10 months now :(.

Yeh, I know it's frustrating, but you have to believe it'll work out eventually.
They only request medical re-do when your application is close to finalization. or if they already extended your medical, it may not get reflected through the portal, for example, my medical status stayed 'you do not need' when I received PPR back then.
