Yes, Family emergencies are exception and Canada is pretty good with those exceptions. If you have solid reason then no worries but try to stay constantly after 2021.

That's good to know, thanks. If any supporting documents are required for the exemption then do you normally need to have them officially translated?

Yes its good to have all supporting documents ready for them, to make your case strong. Its better to be safe than sorry.

Hi All,

Not sure whether this is the relevant thread but I take this opportunity to ask my question here because IMO, it could be considered as rule of landing as well...

If I got successful in my PR application, I plan to do my landing and settle either in Alberta, BC or Ontario Province.
However, what if, few months after landing, I cannot find any job in these provinces but I manage to find a job in Quebec Province => will I be able to move and work legally in QC province with the PR obtained with FSW program ? or will I need to go through the Quebec immigration program (despite I already have the PR)?

I don't intend to live in Quebec Province but who can predict what will be the future ...

Thank you in advance for your comments/guidelines.

OK , Here is the deal.
You might hear different answers from different people. I will try to give you logical answer.
While you enter through express entry program you agreed that you will immigrate to any province except Quebec, as they have their own program.
It all comes down to taxes and provincial agreements with federal. You paid fee for EE program and provinces will be expecting that you will come here and pay taxes and give boost to their provincial economy. But you moved to such province which is not part of this program. You will have no issue until you will go for renewal or citizenship. They can put enquiry on this.

Please note that when you filled eligibility it put you ineligible when you select Quebec.

I won't recommend you to take this risk as it will raise question mark on your eligibility which may result in disqualification. When you will receive your COPR it will be program specific and renewal or citizenship will be based on eligibility and compliance of that program.

After Citizenship you are free to move any where.

If you really need to go to Quebec then I would recommend to ask CIC and explain your scenario.

It makes sense.
I was just considering the worst case scenario but indeed it's not worth to consider it before getting the citizenship ...
Cheers

Hello all,

I want to know if anybody has deferred their COPR due to their inability to travel on account of any medical condition or pregnancy? If yes, what is the process you followed?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I'm aware, deferring landing past the COPR date simply isn't possible.
