No. No joke. There is a typo in the post. The application was made in October 2017.
And, in any event, SAME DAY test & oath is a common practice for locations provided itinerant services.
Mine was not the same day, but the day after the next; I similarly received the notice for the test & interview together with the notice for the oath (received notice for test even though I was test exempt and of course thus did not actually take the test).
. . . BUT again, actually taking the oath is CONTINGENT on successfully passing the test (if applicable) AND the interview.
Hi guys, it's been a while, but I wanted to share that I got test invite and for verification of identity/document notice for May 16 in Victoria.
I believe it's itinerant site, but no idea if test&oath will happen on the same day.
weird thing is... appointment is during lunch time. How early should I go in for those?

While Victoria may be an itinerant services location, my impression is that in contrast to many other locations it has more frequently scheduled events. Moreover, staff travel to Victoria from the local office does not involve the time or logistics involved in, say, Mississauga local office personnel traveling to Thunder Bay to provide itinerant services. That is, probably less pressure to consolidate services for Victoria compared to other locations. (My guess is that local office personnel may be able to commute to the Victoria location without overnight accommodations. Not so easy for Prince George or Thunder Bay, let alone locations like Yellowknife.)
That said, the notice for a same-day (or within a couple days) oath could come separately, but if so it should come soon. Otherwise, NOT likely there will be a same-day Oath . . . while same day oath is a COMMON practice for itinerant services, it is NOT the rule, and may not even be the routine.
But good luck nonetheless and hopefully the oath will come sooner rather than later.
