What is different between Criminal and Security check?
Does Criminal depend on PCC? What about Security?

CIC might ask for genuine PCC if they assume that what you provided was a copy.

You are correct.
They requested again for original one because it was photocopy one.
Do you think once I submitted my document (I assume that was my last document what they need all because changed to N/A in additional document section), they will take 2 months to review my Background check?

some background checks are done in 1 day

another thing that's killing me is the security check. I've been in Canada for 4.5 years, having applied for multiple immigration documents: visitor visa, study permit, work permit, another visitor visa. One would assume I have passed all possible checks before applying for the PR. But they still make me wait for this last check to be done, for almost 4 months now since my eligibility and criminality have been marked as passed.

I agree, i am on the same boat... cic agent says everything is passed- still there is nothing!

Called CIC today , still nothing new , they said they are doing additional background verification and it is same from last 2 months ...I don't know what does it means? Security is still not started .
Can anyone tell me what does additional back ground verification means ?

i went to mp office and the pull out my file information. they told me that my application move to irrc british columbia on 17 april 2018. on same day my ecas status change from in process to application receive.

any one idea why the move file to bc

I'm from BC and i call last week and was told our file is still in Nova Scotia not sure why it went there

Bcoz CIO is in NS. and all the file process there. Only for visa stamp they move the files Ottawa after decision made. So everyone’s files are in NS.

I wonder if that is why a lot of us from Oct, Nov, Dec 2016 and Jan 2017 are getting Application Received in ecas from in progress as it has been transferred to Ottawa for a final decision that would make sense what do you guys think?
