Spousal sponsorship

- We received xxxxxxxx application for permanent residence on June 24, 2016.
- We sent xxxxxxxx correspondence acknowledging receipt of xxxxxx application(s) on February 1, 2017.
- We started processing xxxxx application on November 1, 2016.
- Medical results have been received.
- We sent xxxxxx a letter on January 17, 2018. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. (that was for the interview)
- We sent xxxxxxx correspondence on April 5, 2018 about the decision on their application.

Nice to join this forum. I am finalizing my outland application before submission, can anyone please confirm if my understanding is correct for my queries, thank you so much.
Background: I am Canadian citizen and want to sponsor my husband, we got a kid who already got certificate of citizenship. We live outside Canada now and decide to move back next year.
My queries:
1. IMM 0008 Personal details Q3 - How many family members, including you, are in this application? I should put 1, just my husband?
2. IMM 0008 - Add Dependent Section, I don’t need to input myself (sponsor) and our son as we both are Canadian citizens?
3. IMM 5532 Part A Q1 - monthly gross income, I should convert this to CAD from local currency?

I'm originally from the USA. My wife who is a Canadian citizen sponsored me via Inland Spousal Sponsorship. I recently received my work permit. Can i leave Canada now and go back to US to visit or must stay here until i receive my PR? And will leaving Canada effect my application process?
Short trips are generally fine pending you meet the admissibility requirements to return to Canada. However, if you are denied for any reason your application will be denied. Long trips are not acceptable on an inland application.
I believe there's no Fiance' visa in Canada, unlike the US.Hi, this was likely asked before by someone so I apologize in advance but can anyone confirm if my fiancee can come to Canada as a tourist while awaiting our sponsorship application to be processed? (application would be made in Canadian embassy in Europe). I'm a Canadian citizen, she's in Europe (EU country with no visa requirement)
I imagine that is allowed, just wondering if it might not jeopardize her application in any way? just trying to minimize the time we spend apart
We had the same problem, but you guys are blessed because she can still come to you for a visit anytime.
anyhow, the only way for you to sponsor her is as spousal visa, that means you have to get married first and do inland or outland processing.
Inland if she is in Canada already and have enough time to process until the application gets approved (could be 12 months).
Outland is if you will indicate that she's in Europe. If you choose this, she can still go in and out of Canada since Visit Visa is not needed for her, but make sure that she's outside Canada when the Decision is made so that she can enter Canada with her PR.
Just sharing you the process from experience.

I think they are still engaged, not yet married so they can't do Spousal Visa application unless they are married. No Fiance' Visa in Canada....otherwise, they can apply also through Spousal ( common-law marriage) if they meet the criteria.

This is a bit out of context question. But i hope anyone out of you all can answer it based on your experience.
One of my friend in India married a Canadian citizen guy last year. The Canadian guy was divorcee prior to this marriage. So basically its second marriage for him. The canadian guy can not file the spousal application till June, 2018 due to the 3 years bar put by IRCC.
So my question is whether they should go for visitor visa first and then file spousal application or they should file spousal application first, get the UCI number and then file visitor visa. Which would be the beat option ?? Please advise..

We are applying for the Spouse/Common Law inland visa.
I have a question regarding the Open Work Permit and how people typically fill in the first question of the form and question 5 regarding 'duration of intended work'.
I currently hold an International Experience Canada (IEC) visa which will expire in the next two months in June. As I will be applying for an OWP with my application, I understand that I will not be allowed to work (but I will be allowed to stay as a visitor under implied status) until a decision has been made on my Common-Law/OWP application and that it typically takes 4 months for them to process the OWP application. I am wondering whether I just 'have' implied status as a visitor, or whether I have to request my status be changed to visitor? (Note: I will have legal status for another 2 months after sending in the application) I also believe there's an option on the form for requesting a temporary resident permit.
I am also wondering whether the OWP for people applying for the spouse/common-law in canada visa is considered an 'extension' or a 'new' permit? In my eyes it's not technically an extension, as I'm applying under a different class. I cannot extend my IEC visa, as I've already had one for 2 years. I have filled in on the form that I am applying for an 'initial work permit or permit with a new employer'. Is this correct? What have others done? As I'm not 'extending' my IEC visa, I am not including additional proof of health insurance. Am I correct in thinking this?
As for the expected duration of work - what are we supposed to fill in here? Do we add the processing times of an OWP to today's date for the 'From' date, and the processing time of the spousal/common-law visa to today's date for the 'To' date? Seems arbitrary/guess work??
I am planning on adding a page explaining my choices, but it would be great to hear what you guys have done.
If anyone can shed any light on my confusion, it would be much appreciated!
