Call your appeal office. They will have a case worker assigned to you.Im also scheduled for Adr in Toronto for June although since I got my blue book back in October I've been in contact with an agent whom I've been phoning periodically and a few weeks was gi given June appointment she sent out a letter to confirm. But believe me phone them.

As mentioned before, we deposited our appeal today. My lawyer told me:

- 2 to 3 weeks to receive a receipt and that the file is opened
- since it is a simple case, we will have an adr
- the file will be transferred from the visa office to montreal- between 2-4 months
- after receiving the full report:

We have to go through all the documents sent by CIC with a fine tooth comb. address all the concerns the immigration officer had in his files notes. Starting from the beginning to the end, provide explanations, etc.

Then we will file a list of documents That we should bring to support the case/ addressing all the VO's concerns.
- we will receive during this period the date of the interview.

Note: very important to keep track all the proves: calls, chattings, photos, money transfers, flights tickets, etc.

So my husbands application has been denied (they felt it was not genuine and it was for entry into the country) I am so furious. But anyways now we have entered into the appeal process unfortunately. I am using a lawyer to help me with that process. According to my understanding she will put in the appeal for us and then request for our applcation to review in which she would be representing us if it does get to the point where we have to go before the judge. We are hoping it does not because the is $3000 that no one has. Also she mentioned that we will or can give a written submission and a decision can be made from that if they are convinced. I am so saddened about all of this my husband should have been here by now we are trying to move on in our lives to grow together but immigration is keeping us apart. With my job it is hard to be travelling all the time and financially this is all just a mess. Can anyone suggest examples of how the process actually works or if they have gone through something like this. I have no time frame to work with i feel blind sighted to the whole process.

First of all I’m not sure wasting money on a lawyer is necessary. Sounds like you were denied the same as most on here “non genuine marriage” my husband was denied last March and we are just now waiting for his passport to be returned to him so he can come to Canada. We had ADR in November and I represented myself and won. It took an extra year which it shouldn’t have but if you go to full trial, I’ve heard it’s another two year wait. Hang in there, gather any and all documents you can to prove your marriage is not of convience and in 4 months when you receive your blue book, you can then send all your supportive documents as well as answer all the doubts the officer had (which will be in the notes of the blue book)

Thank you that gives me some hope. This is just a lot to deal with. My husband was denied this March as well and i have not heard anything from the lawyer as yet with any updates. In representing yourself you mean you had a hearing? Like there was no written submission or anything just straight to the hearing? How come it took an extra year if you don't mind me asking? And what is this blue book you speak of?

My husband was denied March 2017, the blue book is what they send you after you fill the papers to appeal. I had ADR so no hearing. It was an informal Skype interview between myself and 2 immigration people. It takes 4 months to get the blue book from denial, then appeal office reviews and decides if it will be an appeal or full hearing. I was in contact with appeal office after I received the blue book and I knew that we would have ADR and approximate time frame. Then they send you official time when it’s booked. Each office has different time frames (mine was Montreal office). Ours was slowed due to summer holidays etc, assuming if things go well you should get your blue book approximately June and then hopefully get ADR but you are looking at later this gear or early next (if ADR) or up to two years if full hearing. It’s a long haul and a very trying time after waiting so long

You are giving me the most help and information i have received through all of this I thank you so much. So i will just continue to pray and hope to hear something about June? I believe my Immigration office on my end is in Mississauga. And of my husband it is in Mexico as he is from the Dominican Republic. I hope the furthest this takes us is ADR i literally don't think that i can handle anything more then that.

I never thought one day I would be part of this kind of group. We were SO SURE my husband and I to get visa.

March 31, 2011......... Application received at Rabat, Morocco
June 27, 2011........... Visa office phoned my husband to ask his wife (me) to pay for visa asap and was also told his chances were good to travel to Canada with me after my visit to him during summer
July 2011.................. Medicals received
Sept. 12, 2011........... Interview (40 minutes)
Mid-October 2011....... E-cas showed "In Process"
Nov. 4, 2011.............. E-cas showed "Decision made"
Nov. 14, 2011............ My husband received refusal letter stating our relationship is not genuine. The said letter does not give any reasons, arguments or facts. We doubt it is because of age difference (I am 20 years older)
Nov. 21, 2011............ Hired the services of an immigration consultant and notice of appeal was signed and sent today
20 YEARS OLDER!!!!!!!WOW

Hello
i just wanted to ask what are the best things that I should be prepared with when I receive my blue book for the appeal of my husband and I appeal? We were denied on the terms that the relationship was not genuine based off the questions that he was asked in the interview in which they did not ask him many questions really related to the relationship. Also will my lawyer receive the blue book or will it come to me in the mail and will I hear my from my lawyer because they have received response from appeal? And then we deal with the blue book. I thought I understood all of this but it’s just so confusing and I’m trying not to freak out
