Thank you for letting me know. And what is usually the transit time between VAC and Canadian embassy?

That depends on how far the VAC is from the embassy and how fast they process and send it to the embassy, add may be another week

I submitted on Mar24th and on Mar 25th i got message that "application is updated".And after that no update or message till now. I did my medical two weeks upfront.

That's normal. You have to wait for it to be processed

5 weeks excluding transit time between visa application center to Canadian Embassy. This gets updated every week on CIC website. Normally this is processing time for student visa in India.

How is transit time valid in case of Online application?

I applied for student visa on 24 March,2018...I didn't get any update regarding medical till the date..

Then obviously its not, exclude that. It only applies to paper application

That's good .
Yeah medical is fine .
But PCC is needed only for PR , WP , not for SP .

In rare cases you need PCC , if you have a criminal background .

If PCC was needed for SP , I would've been requested and many others , but that's not the case .

Again , like i told you , if you tick yes to Questions 3,4,5,6 , you maybe requested for a PCC .

• are law-abiding and have no record of criminal activity (you may be asked to provide a Police Clearance Certificate);

Only if requested , there's no need and not mandatory to submit PCC .
Like I said , even if I ticked yes to the background questions 3,4,5,6 , I will be requested for a PCC .

Now a days its taking upto 25 days for medical update. I have applied on March 8th and medicals got updated on April 6th.

Applied for study visa online on March 18th no email or update in CIC is this normal. Please similar experience or have applied the same week.

Applied on March 11th. Got approved today. Applied from Jeddah Saudi Arabia through VFS global paper based. Didnt recieve a single message until today. Linked the application on March 18th. Got an email today stating my account has been updated. Went and checked, saw "approved" under final decision.
