I *think* the call center is in the EST? I have found that the best times to call are in between 10-11:30 AM and 2-3:30 PM EST. This likely because these are inconvenient times for most people who are working so the traffic is lower. Noon is bad. So is after 4PM EST.

The call centres are busy on its peak on Mondays and the least on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Usually, the lunch timings and the opening time (either its 08.00 am or 09.00 am is more busy. The afternoons are less busy on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Hi Design.IQ, how were you able to talk to a live agent? Which number did you dial? I dialed the 888 number, and every time I select an option that seems applicable (address change), it tells me they are experiencing a high volume of calls and are unable to direct my call to an agent, even though at the beginning of the recorded message, it says i will be put in a queue.... Really frustrated with this.

Posting this after a long time : We have been in "IP" since Feb 6th , there is absolutely no update after that. We have completed 9 weeks since the last update. Mississauga applicant. Not sure what is going on with Mississauga office. Anyone called IRCC and new news ?

My wife's application has been stuck in IP since Feb 7th. We are in Toronto but perhaps the application is in Mississauga also. Seems like Mississauga has slower timelines.

Peel region applicants from October are still waiting for test invites. Many of them are 'IN PROCESS' since mid December.
One of my friend, an October applicant got invite this week from Scarborough office. Mississauga and Brampton applicants amount for more than 60%$ applications after the rule change. hence the delay.

IP does not necessarily mean that your file has been transferred to a local office. It could well be still in Sydney as I found out last week after being IP since Feb 2. So it would seem logical that if a file isn't transferred, no action is being taken on it. That said, the application window is 12 months so you just have to wait it out.

Ottawa does NOT send email. It is updated on ECAS (usually) and comes in snail mail.

I am yet to see any ottawa applicant say they got email test invite! Please correct me if i am wrong...
