IRCC call centre agents are wrong all the time. Literally hundreds of cases on this site of them giving blatantly wrong info.I checked with cic helpline in January as I also have similar situation. They mentioned that the child is added to list only from the birth year. So in your case 2015 will be count 5 and 2016 onwards is count 6. I would recommend that you attach a letter explaining this with your application. If you still have confusion, you can talk to cic helpline. Its difficult to get to them but keep trying until you are successful.
He is dependent of my parent and under 22 so he can be included in the application. You can't apply for your brother, the program is called parents and grandparents sponsorship, not parents, grandparents and siblings sponsorship.
If he is dependent of your parents, he is included in the family size.
Your family size at time app is submitted is family size you need to meet for 3 previous years. This has been the case since new rules were introduced back in 2014.He is dependent of my parent and under 22 so he can be included in the application.
I am short of 2500 in Lico for 2015 and my daughter was born near the end of 2015 so i am just confused if i should add him in the application or not. and how CIC interprets family size yearly and how they would if my daughter was born in 2015.
Thank you for clarifying. So my lawyer was right!Your family size at time app is submitted is family size you need to meet for 3 previous years. This has been the case since new rules were introduced back in 2014.
Are you sure?He is dependent of my parent and under 22 so he can be included in the application.
Speaking of winning the lottery, I just got an email from IRCC today informing me that I can now apply to sponsor my parents. I thought they are not going to send out invitations until late April.
Anyhow, should anyone wants to know, IRCC is sending invitations now - or may be even earlier. I got mine today.
I agree that cic doesn't make a lot of thing clear which doesn't help but in case things aren't clear then if we cannot trust cic helpline then whom else? As I said make sure you get details of person whom you have confirmed with and mention it in the letter along with the application. If cic staff itself isn't clear of rules then they cannot expect common people to be aware of this. Honestly I would have submitted my application this year if I had got selected in lottery. Also it would help if people on this forum can tell if they called cic helpline on this particular topic and received different response. At least then when others call cic helpline then they have something to quote to cic person.IRCC call centre agents are wrong all the time. Go through the forms, there is only 1 calculation provided for family size, and that is at time app is submitted. They don't ask you to provide calculations for family sizes in previous years, since size at app submission is all that matters.
So go ahead an apply, app will still be rejected and processing fees wasted regardless of what the IRCC call centre agent said.
Congratulations! I am so happy for you. You are so lucky! Hope everything goes well for you. It is such an amazing opportunity for you and your parents!Got email this morning that my parent in laws application get accepted for 2018. Deadline for documents is May 25, 2018.

Read these 2 forms:

In 5768 you caluclate family size on question #7, and in 5748 you use that family size to see 3 years income. Again, there is no option provided to do additional family size calcs for previous years. They only ask for and want 1 family size number at time of app.
So go ahead an apply, app will still be rejected and processing fees wasted regardless of what the IRCC call centre agent said.
I think i selected "yes" that time.. i dont recall though. is there any way to check my responses again?Congratulations! This is wonderful news! You are so lucky to have got this opportunity to sponsor your parents.
Your husband and you can apply as co-sponsors. When you submitted the interest to sponsor there was a section that spelled out how much you need for each Financial Years LICO which you had to tick yes in order to submit your interest to sponsor. Did you tick yes?
the waste of precious time is worse than the waste of money.
Hmm is it possible to tick "No" and still enter the lottery?I think i selected "yes" that time.. i dont recall though. is there any way to check my responses again?
