Kemeshia:

You do not need to include your reference number. It has a barcode on the first st page, and says:

“Below is a barcode that will help our agents match the information you supplied when you submitted your interest to sponsor your parents. Please print this page, and include it as your first page when you submit your application.”

So, don’t sweat if you lost your reference number. As for seeing 15k reference numbers, I think that’s the preliminary list. They send out invitations to the first batch and have extra 5k as a backup in case some people are found to be not eligible. That’s just my thought.

Curious, eh? ;)
Hi

2 husbands and a wife, huh? Well, that's complicated indeed! If one wife is somehow married to two husbands, they would be considered one family. So, my assumption is family of 6.
I wrote family of 2 (husband nd wife)
Not 2 husbands

Income will eventually be checked by a visa officer. When they see the income does not meet LICO in any given year, they will send out a procedural fairness letter first to see how sponsor will respond, and assuming they really didn't meet income the app will then be rejected.
So they don't have to pay the $550 first? If that's the case, there's nothing to lose. There could be a situation where they could miss out on something and actually approve your application isn't it?

If there are no consequences for trying, why not give it a shot? You have nothing to lose.

that's what I am curious about, on that page they clearly says, if your reference number is on the list you are eligible and can apply.

Hi all,

i have 3 questions.

1. i met my income requirement for 2014,2015 and 2016 and we were family of 4(me, wife, father, mother).
In Feb 2017, my son is born and now we are family of 5. When i compare my income for 2015 as family of 5 i am short of 3500$.
Does anyone can please confirm if they will consider my family income with respect to 5 family members OR 4 members? Because in 2015, we were family of 4 and were eligible.

2. Before my son was born, my wife took maternity leave in nov and dec 2016. In form "Income Sources for the sponsorship of parents and grandparents" they have a question as ""(e) Amount paid to you under the Employment Insurance Act,"". Do we need to add maternity money paid by EI under this column?

3. Do i need to add my wife as co-signer if i am eligible to apply on my own?

your help and time is really appreciated.
1. They will use your family size NOW to calculate the income. So you need it for 2015, 2016 and 2017 for family size of 5.
2. I don't have the answer for this
3. You do not need to add you wife as cosigner if you meet income requirement. But it doesn't look like you do for 2015. So adding her co-signer may help.

Do they contact you saying "Err we just went through your application and it looks like you are not eligible. Do you wish to withdraw your application ? Or do you want to pay $550 and have us to process it anyway?"

Does CIC do that?
No, they don’t.

My bad. If you meant two married couples (two husbands and wives), then they are going to be considered two separate families regardless of how they relate to each other. Each couple can sponsor their own parents/grandparents.

I see where you made the two married couples link. 2(husband and wife). Like math right?

LOL!

So what do they do exactly? Did you experience this yourself?
So they don't have to pay the $550 first? If that's the case, there's nothing to lose. There could be a situation where they could miss out on something and actually approve your application isn't it?

The $550 is paid upfront when you submit application.

Yes of course the processing fee is paid first. If you don't give the correct fee, the app will be returned before income is even looked at. This has happened to people who gave incorrect credit card info.

I believe the sponsorship fee is $75, and then you have the option to continue with app if sponsor is found ineligible. But income is continued to be assessed right up until PR is approved, so even if first office "missed" an ineligible income, it would most likely just be caught later on.
