I was asked if I have had trouble with the police and asked about my current employment. She verified my passport and ID, had me sign the presence calculator printout that I didn't sign and asked me to sign another form. That was it. She didn't ask anything regarding my son's application, even though verifying that it was attached to mine.

Interview is more like a conversation, nothing difficult about it. Just simple ID, passport stamp, and original document verification. They may try to engage you in a conversation by asking some basic personal questions about your job, family etc just to assess your language capability. That's about it. In most cases it lasts < 5 min.

What's your name, where do you live, what do you do for a living, do you have family in Canada, what countries have you been to, ever had any issue with the police...
Took 5 minutes.

The waiting time to be called for the interview (1 hour for me) is longer than the actual interview (5 minutes).
If you had many travels maybe that would take longer than 5 minutes interview.

If you more stamp
More trouble

That’s what I know

If you have any stamp in your passport before you come to Canada I am not sure they will look at very closely or not

IRCC tries to schedule couples together. In majority of the cases, a couple's test and interview will be on the same day. They are also interviewed together.

Usual questions confirming your claims on your application.
Plus sign a paper that you state you are not under any legal proceedings or been convicted in the duration of your application.

Really quick yes no questions.
