Hi,

I understand this question has been visited a few times before. But I want to ask an opinion on my personal situation

I got my ITA in February first draw with 467 points. I have almost collected all the required documents. I did my medicals recently. And there I think I hit a dead end.

They took my blood pressure. It was 170/105 the first time. They did it again. It returned a similar number. And finally the third time it returned 138/86. I have never had blood pressure issues. But I was extremely nervous during the medical exam. I came back home and tested my blood pressure in a pharmacy near me and it returned 121/66. I went back to a doctor and it returned 134/82. I get extremely itchy when I see that damn blood pressure machine and a blonde nurse checking on it. I am sorry. It's not even a joke. I am serious here and very serious there. White Coat Syndrome eh?

The medical examiner typed in 138/86 in my report to CIC. Do you think this will be a problem. All other vitals are normal. X-Ray is normal is what the doctor told me. Finally the medical examiner (Doctor) said all is well and normal. But I am still worried about the 138/86 number.

Can some one tell me if I will be asked for more tests on this. This medical thing is crazy in a way. You would have never gone to a doctor to prove your fitness in your life before. You only go for check ups which you do not really care much about when you are young. And now you go to prove it and you get all scary and things turn out bad.

Can someone help me on this with an opinion please?

Many thanks

Hello...

Sorry to hear about your situation. I had a similar situation when I did my first medical exam. My blood pressure was little high. Doctor said it's normal sometimes it goes up & it's may be happening because of protein in the urine but he right way asked me to do Serum Creatinine & Urine. There were little protein & blood in the urine. Doctor submitted the report to CIC and after a week, I got further medical test request from CIC which was same repetitive Serum Creatinine & Urine. I did another test and everything was clear at the end. After that CIC didn't come back for further testing and my medical is passed now. My PR file is in process. you can see my signature for more info.

As long as your Urine, Blood and all other reports are normal except high blood pressure then you should not be worry about. In addition, little protein in Urine is normal sometimes & If you do daily exercises such as running, cycling then there might be a light blood in the Urine.

I wish you will not get any further medical request but don't be afraid If CIC will ask you to get additional medical request about Serum Creatinine & Urine. As long as you're test reports are normal. CIC will passed your medical as well. CIC cannot reject your application if you only have high blood pressure. You don't need to worry at all that what I can advise. Please stay positive & always happy.

Let me know If you still have any questions...!

Krunal,

Thank you very much for your reply. I am glad you went past the medicals which seems the toughest post ITA

I haven't received my Urine and Blood results as of yet. I will only get it next week

May I please ask how high your BP was. Your numbers? If you aren't comfortable with letting me know, it is perfectly fine

It's not necessary you will get additional request also. I got it because I have little blood & protein in the urine. If your Urine report is clear then you might not get.

Well...CIC doctor just said it's little high. It was high because I was little tensed. But when I went to my family doctor it was around 86/124. It was normal. It sometime get high blood pressure if you are in hurry. I haven't seen high except my medical exam. :):)

Okay. Thank you. I will wait and see if CIC asks me for more tests. The doctor told me all is well despite 138/86 and sent me home. They did not ask for further tests.
I am still waiting on FBI PCC. That's the final thing to submit my application. Hoping for the best.

Good luck to you :)

I had the exact same situation as you. Probably white coat syndrome but the first 2 BP checks were 160/90. At the end of all the tests I asked them to check my BP again and it was 120/80. I passed my medical a week after submitting e-APR. I think you are safe if they put 138/86.

I don't like hospitals and been scared of them since I was a kid.

Normal blood pressure reading for cic medical is anything less than 140/90. Only if someone is above this level, they'll be requested for furtherance tests. You should be all set.

I am on High BP meds from last 10 years, is that a problem? Any idea?o_O
My guess is you will be asked to take some extra tests to make sure there is no organ damage. Controlled hypertension with meds is fine, I've seen people being approved.

As long as BP is controlled by meds and there is no organ damage, there is no problem. I know many people who are on hypertensives got approved for PR.
