He is from Afghanistan but he has lived all his life in Pakistan so we were only required to submit a Police Certificate from Pakistan.

Makes sense. Usually for Afghan files they go a little over a year. Dont be shy on sending them lots of inquiries when the 12 months pass as they require to give you answers!

I am a May 10th applicant. When I logged into my GCkey account today it says the application has been updated instead of submitted. But everything is same when I click on the application status. What does that means ?

Nope everything is exactly same and no messages. I logged out and logged in back and it still shows UPDATED. No idea what does that mean.
