PCC in New Delhi, India

Hi,

I am residing in New Delhi, and the address on my Passport is of my hometown's (Amritsar).
I have booked my appointment in PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) for tomorrow. I have few questions on my mind :-

1. What do I need to carry apart from Original Passport, its photocopies and current address proof ?
2. How much time does it takes to complete this process? I mean by when should I expect PCC to be issued to me?
3. What is the whole procedure like? I mean tomorrow i will be going to PSK and apply for PCC, then they will assign my application to the local Police station and then some investigating officer will be assigned on my case who will verify my background. Is this understanding correct ?

It usually takes 10 working days.. in the meantime you can arrange for ur fund proofs, most tiresome employer letters.. by the time u can manage these, PCC will come for sure.. so dont worry

Hi, I'm in the same situation. Please tell did you get PCC from Delhi or Amritsar? Which address proofs did you use?
If I get PCC at my Amritsar's address, won't it conflict my claim of saying that I live and work in Delhi?

Police pcc is valid for Punjab only!

Police pcc is valid for Punjab only!

Here is what CIC website says... hope PCC from Delhi Police is also valid.

For residents of Punjab: You can apply to your local Senior Superintendent of Police, or the senior ranking police official at the police station in your district.

For residents of Delhi: You can apply at your local district police station or online on the Delhi Police website. The website will list what information and documents you need. If you apply online, your certificate will be returned to you electronically.

For residents of other states: You can apply at your local district police station.

For all residents of India: You can apply for a Police Clearance Certificate from the Passport office on the Passport India website. The website will list what information and documents you need.

If you have lived in Delhi throughout your life, then Delhi Police PCC will work. But if you have lived in any other city, then you need a PCC from PSK.

No, I applied from Delhi Police but you can go ahead with Passport office, both are accepted by CIC.

You can apply at PSK in Delhi for all passport holders online. They will have to do a police verification on your Hyderabad address as well and this may take time.
