Every Indian that becomes Canadian seems to go for the OCI whether they need it or not!

$250 for a surrender certificate and $300 for a single OCI application. OCI is just a longer term visa!!

lol, true. i was surprised when i saw the fee for surrender certificate...i was like FML...

I once appeared for IELTS exam around 7 years back when I took admission in Canadian school, now I wonder do I need to write town IELTS again to show my English language credentials as a part of Citizenship application ? or Can I use previous IELTS certificate which is already expired ?

I think it would be academic so you cannot use it. If it was general, then yes.

Did you complete the program you went to school for? The diploma or certificate you earned there counts as proof of language knowledge.

IRCC will only accept an expired language test (CELPIP or IELTS) if it was used for immigration purposes.

I wrote IELTS when I got admission in Business school in Toronto, I had completed 1 year post graduate certification program and I have certificate for that, so will that work as proof for English language credential in citizenship application ?

Or are there any other options ?

The certificate will work. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=571&top=5 says "proof of completion of secondary or post-secondary education in English or French, in Canada or abroad".

(The fact that the certificate itself is in English is sufficient as proof that the program was in English. There is no need to request a letter from the institution itself. My certificate says - I successfully completed " Graduate Certificate Program in International Business ", I have another ceriticate for completion of Cooperative education, so two semesters of 4 months each and 4 months of coop training, makes one year program - Will this be good enough ?

I am also in the same boat actually, Can we inherit our agricultural land which was on our name before we give up the Indian citizenship. What I heard from people, you can still keep your agricultural land which was on your name before give up Indian Citizenship, but you cannot buy a new agricultural land after you get your Canadian citizenship. If this is correct, How would I sell my agricultural land which was on my name before Canadian citizenship or we can simple keep it? Thanks for reading and your inputs would be appreciated.
