I think you should get the police report as long as you’ve lived in a country for more than 6 months. I don’t think it has a cut off to say if it was 10 years ago or 20 years ago.

I can’t answer the part about working experience if it’s necessary.
It's all countries you have lived in for 6 months or more cumulatively since the age of 18.

Hi Everyone,

I'm preparing my application for EE and I've got two questions.

1- I've been studying in Canada since 2016 and provided CIC with a police certificate when applying for my study permit. I haven't lived in my country since (just visited for 21 days) and it would be a real hassle to get another police certificate. Do I have to get one anyways?

Here's when I get confused:

"If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory."

2- I don't have any sort of work experience to claim points for, but based on CRS calculator, I'll get 461 points. I assume it doesn't matter as long as I beat the cut off point?

Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi,

1) Yo definitely need PCC from your home country. The old one won't work.
2) You can not apply for express entry without any work experience. You need at least 1 year of skilled work experience (NOC category 0, A or B).
So I do not understand how you say you have 461 points without any work experience. Ensure you answered all questions correctly.

ll the best.

Just submitted my EE, Few questions:
  • Is 548 a good score?
  • How long does it take to process/get invite?
  • I am a Canadian PG, but my CRS - Canadian Education says 0 - Any ideas why? - Figured this out, I had chosen french second language as Yes. Score jumped to 548
  • How much money do you bring to Canada? - Have been in Canada for 3 years and I brought 20K+ and now I have a job with 60k+ salaray. I put my salary here, should I change this? Revised it down to 35K just in case they ask me to prove. Will change back.
Thnx!
Hi,

1) It's an amazing score.
2) You will most likely get an ITA within 2 weeks.
3) Not sure, but with 548 points don't worry.
4) Now that you are in the CEC there is no need for POF. So just write 35k for the sake of the system. Then when you submit your application, just upload a word document saying you are a CEC applicant, thus no POF is required.

Hi guys,

I have some questions.

I am the main applicant and my husband is a dependent. Do I have to put his work history in our EE? it doesn't give us any point and the stress of getting reference letter from his work can be much. I was thinking of just adding his work history in personal history after ITA.

Our EE score is 444

Also we have two kids and they are coming with us but I do not see anywhere to add their names in my EE.

Thank you!
Hi,

1) There is absolutely no need to add his experience as it gives no points unless it is Canadian experience. Therefore, say he has no experience and then add it in personal history as you have suggested. This is perfectly acceptable.
2) Children's details are only entered post-ITA, so don't worry.

I created my express entry profile today. I noticed that they didn't ask for credential evaluation report at this stage today. I have successfully submitted the profile, received the EE profile number. I have also created my account on Job-bank website with my EE profile number and job-seeker code. At what stage of the process, I would be asked to provide documents related to WES credential evaluation?
Hi,

They ask for the reference number which is on your certificate and the date. You only upload the certificate in the PR application, this is also optional as the reference and date are all they need.

Great.

Here is the source of the info. Had forgotten to share it:

You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).

Note that you do not need proof of funds if you are currently:

Thank you very much for your reply.
Then I’ll figure out a way to get the PCC.

I’ll get the following points:
Age = 110
Level of education = 135
Study in Canada = 30
Official Languages = 136
Official Language proficiency and education = 50

Which comes to a total of 461, so I hit the minimum with or without job experience.
I thought I’d be ok. Starting to freak out a bit :D

I'm sorry my friend but work experience is a minimum requirement.

You don't qualify yet, regardless of how the number of points you have.

Correct. After that, it takes anything from 3 weeks to 6 months plus, depending on a number of factors. CIC says they process 90% of all applications within 6 months, however, based on current trend, a realistic expectation is 3 months.

When you created the profile and it asked if you applied for the education assessment and if you selected YES it should have prompted you to select which organization then to enter the reference number on the WES evaluation.
Yes, that is what I am asking. Few days back when I was trying to submit my profile, it was asking this question regarding wes credential evaluation and yesterday it did not. Maybe there is some change in the website. Yesterday I was able to submit the profile without that question itself coming and earlier when I had tried to submit I was not able to as I didn't have credentials assessed.

I mean yesterday I had evaluation report but at this stage at least it didn't ask for it and I could submit my EE profile

I’m not sure if any changes were made to the site. Have you got back any messages saying if your profile is eligible or not or is a score displayed? It doesn’t take long to show up after submitting the application. It shouldn’t take more than 24 hours.
