NEED HELP : Citizenship Application

Hi There ,
Hope you all are doing good .
I'm planning to submit my citizenship application and started working on it . I'm a little unclear about few things and need a little help .
I was wondering if somebody has already experienced these issues I'm having right now , might be able to guide me.

I landed in Canada as a Permanent Resident in August 2014 and I am very much eligible to apply my Citizenship (I checked in physical presence calculator ) . And I'm planning to submit the application in sometime March 2018 . So my Eligibility Period (according to CIC website last 5 years ) will be around March 2013 - March 2018 .

Now I have seen there is one Main Form (cit0002e-2 ) and a Document Checklist (cit0002e-2) for this application. My Concerns are ,
1. In the main form section 9 (c) it says if I lived outside of Canada during my eligibility period , and I marked yes as I was not living in Canada before August 2014 and it says to fill up another form called Residence Outside Canada (cit0177e2) . The link to the form is

This form doesn't look like that it is applicable for me :S and I'm confused that "Do I need to submit this form or not ? "

NOTE : I travelled for vacation after I land in Canada for two times in 2015 and 2017 for about a month each time . I put all the information about my vacation travel in my Physical Calculator Online .

2. In the main form section 15 (a) For Language proof I don't have any IELTS proof (It didn't require any for my PR application I was included with my spouse PR application) and I don't have any CLIC or LINC done within that time period mentioned in the form .
However , I did my undergrad outside of Canada and I studied in English and my Certificate is also in English . Do I still need to show them any kind of language proof like IELTS or the undergrad certificate should be enough ?

I apologise for this long message , I just wanted you all to have a better understanding about my situation . I hope you will be able to answer about my concerns .

For question 9C:

As part of the complete documentation, you HAVE to fill out Residence Outside Canada [Form CIT 0177] if you answered YES for 9C. What I did, as instructed by my lawyer, was fill out N/A for Section A questions 1, 3, 4 and 6 and Section B questions 1 and 2. I received my AOR. I guess what I did was right.

I think you are not eligible to apply for citizenship because as you say your eligibility period would be March 2013-2018 and you only became a PR in 2014 so your 5 year period is August 2019... sorry about that

What are you talking about?
That's not true! if he only left Canada for 2 months since his landing (as he mentioned), then he's eligible from residence point of view.
Sorry that your first contribution to this forum is not right!

He has to have been a PR for a MINIMUM 5 Years to apply for citizenship that is why residence calculator gave him a date of March 2013... and he can’t apply at that date because he only became a PR August 2014.. He has to wait for the 5 year mark..

I don't think it's wise to be overconfident on such a forum.

If I am not mistaken, I think it's clearly laid out on the CIC website.

To be eligible for a grant of Canadian citizenship, you must:

• be a permanent resident (landed immigrant) of Canada
• have been physically in Canada for at least 1095 days in the 5 years immediately before you apply
• have filed personal income taxes for at least 3 years within the 5 year period, if required under the Income Tax Act
• etc....

How many days from aug 1, 2014 to today? = 1,302 days (minus any days he's been away since he moved to Canada)
Now his eligibility period runs from February 23, 2013 to Feb 23, 2018; so he will need to provide a police certificate etc.

Did you notice that your statement contradicts itself. you mentioned: "To apply for citizenship, you should have lived in Canada for 3 out of 5 years" and then you mentioned " he has lived in Canada for only 4 years... " you just answered yourself. He lived for 3.5 years in the last 5 years which is longer than 3 out of 5 years, don't you think?

That part there makes him ineligible.

No, thats not how it is, you are interpreting it wrong. The rule says - that you are only allowed to count days in the last 5 years, not before that.

it does not mean you have to be in Canada for 5 years or PR for 5 years.

Point number 2 on your post says it clearly. I’m not being over confident..

Number 2 says
“Physically present in Canada...in the 5 years before you apply “

He has only been physically present for 4 years

You are overconfident and giving incorrect information.

He needs to be living here for 3 years (1095 days) as PR out of five year, he doesn't needs to be present here for 5 years ( it simply means you can accumulate days during the last 5 years only).

I am here for the last 3.5 years and i did my test/interview last Monday.

Interestingly, a lot of us on this forum became PR in 2014 (including myself)... some already took the oath and became citizen this month.

As I said, you are misinformed and overconfident.
