Just called IRCC this morning and learned that our case has been transferred to Scarborough office. Still no clue when the test and interview would be arranged.....

Hate to say it, but strap in and get comfortable. That CPC is slow asf. They even take applications from other CPCs when these others are overloaded, but no one ever takes applications from Scarborough lol

Never mind, another 8 months to go. LOL.....

at least most of your application is "In-Process", I wish I had never applied during the first week of the rule change. It has been 4 months already and still nothing since AOR. Speechless.

it's common sense mate .. figure of speech .. everyone has a different life ..

of course everyone has a different life, but whatever you mean could also happen if it took 2 months instead of 12.

RE: "but 12 months is a long time .. anything can happen"

Let it go mate .. don't stress yourself .. calm down ..lol

you ask a question. someone gives you an answer AND you start personally attacking them...

from your questions, you seem stressed but i will refrain from commenting on your personal situation. lets not get into personal attacks here.

A friend of mine's became non-routine because he had requested a name split change. Argghhhh..

Personal attacks .. ? from the look of things, you're the one totally stressed about this, and wanting to force your opinion on others .. take a chill pill and have a burger ..orrr whatever you do to calm yourself down ..

Did your friend submit a legal name change certificate in the application? Also do they let you know once your application becomes non-routine? Thanks.

Just to add, I happen to call CIC on Jan 31 for clarification on a question I had, so I decided to ask the agent if she would tell me where my application is holding (It went into process Jan 3rd), her reply: Although your file says "in process" it hasn't moved yet from Sydney and was not transferred to your local office, but it looks like it will be transferred shortly

I also asked her what my local office would be and she said Mississauga! I live 3 blocks from the St Clair office oh well.

I'm also Mississauga, and also live less than 2 km from the St Clair office. There's no logic though, so we wait.

# of kms do not affect your citizenship timeline.

I am aware of that. They also, apparently, don't have that much of an effect on your processing office. And Mississauga is known to be one of the slower offices out there (see the other thread on this forum), so in this case, I wish proximity to a particular IRCC office (or kms, as you so eloquently state) DID affect my citizenship timeline -- even indirectly.

If that was the case, then the apartments around IRCC offices would have sold for millions, prices shot up by Canada Visa forum members...:D

as i remember 25/55 St Clair west is Service Canada and Passport Canada office. i think CIC transferred some citizenship apps to this office to be processed. i guess Miss and Scar offices reached the full capacity. But for the test, applicants have to go to Miss or Scar office to do it as i believe St Clair office doesn't have such facility. St Clair might be just a temporary office to solve the Oct 11 increase applications...
