Hello cc31,

I wanted to ask why did you suggest to get multiple fingerprinting done from professional if we are getting it done from local sheriff anyway ?
Does local sheriff provides multiple prints on additional request and charge?

Thanks
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I am traveling places and did not get time to check this forum.

I suggested making multiple fingerprint sets as the chances of having it accepted is more. The FBI PCC wait time is just too long. It is just a precautionary measure. The fingerprint technician should provide multiple sets upon request.

Please note that by multiple fingerprints I meant to say "single sets of prints captured multiple times" and not "multiple prints of the same capture". Hope this helps.

Pretty easy to do application but it is taking about 3-3.5 months nowadays. So plan accordingly. See - https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

Basically, you need -
a. fingerprint(s) in form FD-258 (I suggest obtaining multiple fingerprints from professional fingerprinting service, I did mine from a local sheriff's office)
b. Application form found in their website
c. CC authorization form or Money Order ($18).
d. Letter explaining why you want FBI PCC. (Not sure if this is required but I sent one anyway)
Just wanted ask.. what did u mean by multiple finger prints? (Did u send two or three fingerprint cards per application?) And how did u approach your local sheriff's office? I mean, did u take the printed cardstock paper with you and asked them to help with finger printing? Thanks!!

#16 answers one of your question.

I just went to the local sheriff's office with my DL and Passport even though either one is sufficient. They had FD-258 with them which was priced little higher than amazon (I guess every fingerprint technician will have FD-258 with them, afterall it is their job to take fingerprints). Stated my purpose of visit to their office and just waited in line for my turn to have fingerprints taken.

You need to first google to check for nearby fingerprinting services. Not every sheriff office will have this service. Goodluck!

Hi.. I am currently residing in the US.(non citizen/non GC) .I am creating my EE profile.I am confident for my score I should get ITA in one of the coming draws. So,considering the huge backlog for US police verification, can I ask FBI verification now itself?
Or should I wait until I receive the ITA?

It now takes only 7 days to get FBI police verification . They now have E- verification option. You can easily do it after getting ITA.

Oh is it great.I dont see any links for the e verification. The https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/united-states.html site still redirects to the FBI page where I am asked to fill the form and send.
Can you kindly share any links for the E-verification process and details.I will greatly appreciate your help

Look for electronically submitting your request which is option 1.

Option 2 is by postal mail.

I got mine in less than a week with the new electronic system !

Day 1: filled up the form online and paid the fees
Day 2: got the fingerprint card from fbi and had my fingerprints taken by a fingerprint technician at a nea=rby police headquarter
Day 3: Mailed the fingerprint card along with the email confirming my payment
Day 5: Received an email from the FBI stating that my results were ready to be viewed online and the hard copy has been mailed
Day 8: Received the hard copy
