Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Okay. A silly question but I would rather be safe than sorry.
I landed in 2017 Dec and started work immediately. My income is 60K. I won't be able to show Canadian income proof for the past 3 years obviously since I have been in the country for just two months. My income is well above LICO though. Would my application to sponsor my parents be considered if I do apply? Any inputs or suggestions?
Because from what I understand the requirements indirectly also require you to be in the country for 3 years or more before you can sponsor your parents/grandparents.

Only Canadian income sources are considered. Most of us have been waiting for 3-4 years now to become eligible to sponsor. You have a long way to go.

I am new to this forum and I deeply appreciate if you can help me to verify the calculation of family size and LICO for the 2018 Parents Sponsorship, as my situation is a little different from every one else. Here is my situation:

- I wish to sponsor my parents + my youngest sister (19 years old, going to school in Canada, and single). I have another sister who is 27 years old and has full-time job in my country (hence, she is not considered as dependent). Thus, my family size (my side is 4)
- I and my fiance declared a common-law relationship in Sep 7, 2015. Hence, my 2015 family size is 5.
- We had a baby in Jun 02, 2016. Hence, my 2016 family size is 6.

Below is the summary of our household income

Me (husband-sponsor) 63,890 81,708 72,795.32
Wife (co-signer) 6,872 24,393.13 32,273.74
Total household income 70,762 106,101 105,069

Considering, in 2014, my personal family size is 4 as i was single at that time, my personal income (63,890) would be above the LICO (2014 LICO is 47,051).
However, if CIC asks for a LICO for a family of 6 in 2014 ($73,072), our 2014 household income is under LICO.

Since my family size changed from one year to another, I am not sure if I am qualified to sponsor my parents this 2018 year. I am having a bad felling right not.

The deadline to apply is coming soon and I am nervously looking forward to receiving your reply/clarification.

Your family size is 6 for all 3 previous tax years. There is no jumping around of family size, it's only the size as of date of application.

The income needed is 2015, 2016, 2017... what is your 2017 income?
2014 income is not relevant to apply in 2018.

Have you even looked at the interest form? The qualifying years are 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Your situation is not any different. It doesn't matter what you family size was in the past; you need to meet LICO each year using the family size at the time applying.

As i check if i am eligible to apply (before getting to the Interest form), the LICO only shows 2014, 2015, 2016. That caused the confution.
I feel relief now. My 2017 income is way above $77K (higher than 2016).

As i check if i am eligible to apply (before getting to the Interest form), the LICO only shows 2014, 2015, 2016. That caused the confution.

You are reading the 2017 application package, which is no longer relevant. They have not updated to the 2018 package yet.

Start to actually fill in the lottery intent form, and you'll see clearly that only 2015, 2016, 2017 is required to apply in 2018.

I have both of my parents alive, but my father is very sick and completely bed ridden and have medical complexities and issues. Considering that I only wanted to apply for my mother. I am confused while filling the application form as it is asking me following question
"Tell us the number of persons you want to sponsor and their family members. (required)

Count the number of parents and grandparents you want to sponsor AND their dependants (spouse or partner and dependent children). You must also include the dependants who will not come to Canada with your parents or grandparents.

Should i write 1 here as I am only intenting to apply for my mother or should i write 2 here including my father(however I don't wish to apply for his immigration)

You have to include your father, even if he's not accompanying. Also note that if your father fails the medical, which would seem likely given his condition, both your mother and father will be refused. Seeing as how he is so sick, it might be better off having your mom stay back home anyway so he can have someone by his side

You must sponsor both parents, even if just 1 will be accompanying. So put both in the lottery form. As mentioned, both parents must still pass medical exam and all other applicant checks, for the app to be approved.

Since you and your brother's sponsor info will be different, it should not count as duplicate entry.

Even if both of you are selected to sponsor, you will just pick 1 of you who will be the sponsor and submit 1 app. In no case does it make sense for both of you to submit an app.

This should be ok, 2 brothers are sponsoring for the same parents. If one of you get picked, you just need 1 application, must be for both parents though
But this year, I have seen that IRCC has been asking for your parent's names, not sure for what... duplicate checks?

It would be LICO from 2015-2016-2017, this is requirement on the Express of Interest form when you submit it.
The deadline for the online form submission is 1 Feb, 2018 and then 3 months from the time (if) you get invited. Last year, IRCC started sending out the results (via email) around 26 April so assuming the same this year you will have pretty much ample time to file your tax and complete the application

I have applied last year but wasn’t picked in the 2 rounds of lottery. I applied again this year and I really hope luck favours me this time.
Does anyone have an idea on the total number of applications received so far? I wish it isn’t a crazy number like last year. Good luck to all of you.
