Yeah i believe my file was transferred there mid-end December and nothing as of yet. I've been told files are sent to this VO only when interviews are required but have been unable to confirm this with IRCC in fact they state the contrary.

alibra22, I should amend my post above to include that if a US applicant's case forwarded to local VO, it means either an interview is deemed necessary or a further assessment on your case is deemed necessary, or both.

Working on that premise, is it safe to assume LA processing times would fall way outside of the norm?

At this time, I should say yes, because from the current general trend, a standard processing time for most US applications is 6 months (except some of those applications were filed between Jan to March, that CPC really messed them up). And any further assessment required will cost time, but no one here knows for sure how long exactly it will be.

I don't know when CPC changed the rules to process all US applications at Ottawa or CPC-Mississauga, they used to process US applications at US local VOs, but not anymore, unless an interview and/or further assessment is required.

Ok thanks for the reply so difficult to get info/ expectations from IRCC I come from a real estate background and if my team kept borrowers in the dark like this we’d be run out of business lol ....

I just received a reply from them stating that they are unable to answer questions on files within the first 90days of reciept so they must be pretty backed up

You betcha they backed up even just with few applications, because I think LA VO only retains minimum human resources for handling immigration cases.
