TVR from Canada with work permit

Hello,

I moved to Canada 4 years ago for study, about a year ago I graduated from school and got a work permit for 3 years. In the past few years, I have applied for VISA several times, and got approved in about two weeks after I submitted my application.

My current visa has expired and I have applied for a new one mid-December. Still, I haven't heard anything from the immigration office.
I am planning to leave Canada for two weeks mid-February to visit my family whom I haven't seen in 4 years and this is the only chance that I got. They're gonna fly to Instanbul and I'm going to go there to see them. They already have booked their flights and so did I. But not having heard back from immigration office is stressing me out.

I have already emailed all the receipts for the flight tickets to the office. Apparently they are doing a background check (which didn't happen on my other previous visa applications)!

Does someone have any experiences in these cases? Is there a way to speed up the application?
This is very important to me and it's kinda urgent. Travelling is not something that my family can do any day ...

Man I guess you are Persian just like me. I am on work permit and applied for a TRV in October ... Still waiting. They are taking it hard on us and they do security checks. Before I used to get visa in 2 weeks as u said. My advice, do not risk and sit in Canada don't leave. I did and am stuck in turkey right now waiting to come back to canada

Agreed.

Don't leave until you get a TRV. You're on implied status currently. And that's better than being indefinitely stuck in Turkey

Oh that sucks :( I'm sorry to hear that ...

Yeah I'm Persian too.
It used to be very fast and easy. I know I'm going to get the VISA eventually, but it's not gonna worth if I miss the chance to see my family.

Did you write an email to your member of parliament about your situation?

I did and they followed up, but they said their assistant is limited when a background check is on going. But still worth a shot.

Seriously, you're risking your return to Canada.

It is just a matter of a few months before you get a decision/your visa. You can visit your family then

Thank you for the advice. Yes, I'm not going to leave Canada before I get the VISA which I'm pretty sure I'll get eventually. But given the circumstances and the situation my family is in, visiting them is not going to be possible for another couple of years if I miss this chance. As I said it's not like they can travel any day.
I'm assuming there's no way to enter Canada from Turkey without the VISA with just the work permit.

Do not leave Canada

I have done all the ways you would think of like even getting help from MP of oshawa but it doesn't matter when application is at security stage

It is a difficult situation for you and meeting up with family after so long would be wonderful. But, family being family will understand that you're risking your return to Canada..... and surely, they would not want you to go through uncertainty and the stress of waiting for a TRV.

No, you cannot
