Hello All,

I will be doing my landing through Blue Water Bridge (Sarnia) in early March and will be driving my car through this border - export from USA and importing into Canada. I have started getting together documents and other requirements. My questions is, would it be possible to drive my car in Canada with my current US insurance; my vehicle is insured in US. Meaning once all the formalities of exporting/importing and immigration are completed can I get into my car and drive to my destination in Toronto or this not possible? Remember that I intend to register my car in Ontario as soon as I have form 1 and 2 completed from RIV and stamped off. I am aware that my insurance covers travel in Canada but since I will be importing into Canada, I am curious if there's any difference due to the permanent nature of my travel into Canada.

I called Port Huron USCBP at 810-985-9451 and they said that vehicle export operations are open 24/7
I called Sarnia CBSA at 204-983-3500 and the officer told me that vehicle import operations are open 24/7

Where did you take your car for inspection at US custom?. I received email from the us custom regarding what documents they need to sign off for the car export, but no address. I call 9451 phone and they told me to take left 100 yards before the toll both. Not sure if there is any left turn at free way before crossing the toll both on the bridge.

Any help you can provide will be appreciated.
