Hi @legalfalcon I submitted my EE application on 10 Oct 2017 and got a message for additional document request for a couple of PCCs. I have uploaded them today. Our deadline to upload the additional documents is 28 Feb 2018.
I just wanted to know how long would it take for CIC to start reviewing our application? Will it be after the 28 Feb deadline? Please help, thanks!

I called IRCC today the lady on phone said that our application has passed medical, eligibility, security and my criminality has passed but they have not started my spouse's criminality. As you know my spouse was charged and charges were withdrawn, we were requested to submit police report and court records. We did submit everything on 22nd NOV, since then there is no movement on my file.

The lady on phone did say that they are waiting for RCMP report for my spouse and as soon as they receive the report, a final decision will be made.
I am wondering if you can put some light on how RCMP report works and how long it can take?

Appreciate your support. Now the situation is that yesterday my consultant has raised CSE and sent the documents related to previous withdrawn case and mentioned that it was missed initially. Would it have any negative effect?

You can raise a CSE and inform IRCC to provide you with the forms. Until your child is born, and you obtain the birth certificate, passport, and medicals you will not be able to add the child to the application.

But the confusion was cleared by VO in July as per his comments after which I moved into IP2 on 2nd Aug. How to know when was Security started? I've passed Eligibility, Criminality, Medicals and Info sharing complete. My medicals expire in Mid April. Does security take that longer even if one isn't in SS? Am I not into Security Screening?

Most delays are due to no one working on the file. CBSA is the one which conducts security and criminality, and it depends on when IRCC sent your file to CSIS and CBSA.

If everything is passed except security, then just give it some time it will be done too.

As regards the medicals, if they are about to expire, then you can raise a CSE and request to extend the medicals. In some cases IRCC will do it on its own or send a request to re-do the medicals.

After you submit any additional documents, it takes 1-3 weeks for IRCC to add them to your file and then the processing commences.

You can request IRCC to extend or IRCC will do it on its own accord. There is no set time within which IRCC will extend it, it can even ask you to re-do the medicals.

The criminality is evaluated by CBSA. If the charge was in Canada, RCMP will send the report, based on which CBSA will make a evaluation and reach a final decision.

My issue is as: I have visited Qatar multiple times, but all visits were done on visit visa. I have checked with CEID department in Qatar and they told me that they would not give me PCC for entire tenure as my visits were in chunks but will only provide PCC for my last visit. Which should suffice the CIC need.

Can you share any experience if that is workable? I do not see how I can convince them to change their policy. The people in Qatar department are not very helpful.

Hi @legalfalcon. Can you guide me related to BOWP? I am currently having pgwv expiring in August 2018. However, during this 2.5 yrs of pgwv possession i never stayed/worked/visited Canada. I just want to visit Canada after few months (for couple of weeks) to apply for BOWP to secure visa extension as my PR application is under process (eligibility passed and backgrounds/security checks in progress) and I have no idea how long will take. Based on your experience would you recommend me to apply keeping in mind all these scenarios i mentioned? I am thinking from a point of view that cic may question me why I did not stay in canada and now I am applying for BOWP. Will it create doubts in their minds and will it effect my PR application? Thanks!

Thanks for you input. The charge was in Canada. Do you know how long it can take to get to PPR? Am I looking at few months or weeks?

I read your post where you have explained how backgrounds are conducted. Its covers security screening process . As our securoty and eligibilty is passed, is it just the matter of time or should I be worried of something? I did share the court records and police reports with you and you had advised that the case was minor and moreover everything was withdrawn. I am just worried, sometimes I feel that I am overthinking... any thoughts sir?

YEs, this is normal. In most cases IRCC will renew the medicals for dependent applicants. However, after you get your medicals again, raise a CSE and confirm with IRCC about your dependent members. In the same message, politely request IRCC to renew the medicals for your dependent members.

I was scheduled to do medicals in india but unfortunately my company transferred me to qatar urgently so i did medical exam in qatar but i did it on 35th day not with in 30days given by IRCC . I raised CSE and informed about the reason for late submission and also my new qatar address.
Will this be a problem?

Previously, Background check was different and also review of additional documents also changed from we're reviewing to this.
No meds update yet.
