Take it from me as someone who got approved sooner than anticipated... plan as much stuff in advance as possible! I've been extremely overwhelmed trying to plan everything related to my landing and wish I had taken time to prepare (I thought I would have more time!). The car importation process, in particular, seems very detailed and complicated and I had done no research whatsoever. It's just a lot to think about all at once
These websites have been helpful to me while looking into the process. It does seem quite overwhelming! I'm trying to figure out how to export the car from the USA without paying the toll to cross the bridge in Sarnia. Seems silly to have to pay just to turn back. We just got passport request today so once I send their documents off I'm going to work harder on this. Let me know if you find any info!

There's very few for November and December because those applicants are just starting to (or have not yet received their) AOR. You don't find out your app is being processed at Mississauga until you receive AOR2, which according to current timelines, would be about 3 months after the app is received. So I would say the data is only accurate through September or October.
One thing I will add is I haven't received my AOR2, but I know we're being processed in Mississauga because I did receive an email saying my husband's application would be processed in Mississauga, but no AOR2 as described in the Google Sheet instructions.

I have almost everything organized and ready to go, so I am more than happy to shoot you a PM when I have everything laid out step by step. I will point out that the car has to be physically in the US at 72 hours prior to export (when you send in your export notice) and remain in the US that entire time, so not sure how that factors into your bridge toll.

Thanks to those who have given me advice on giving evidence for intention to move with my applicant to Canada, but I'm wondering is this normal for them to ask us for this?
Thanks

As I mentioned when you first posted about this, this information is actually required to be submitted alongside your application if you are not currently living in Canada. They are requesting it because you did not submit it up front. So yes, it is 100% normal

I would love that! I have a rough guideline but put it off for a bit because I figured it would be a while still. I plan to cross back into the States and stay for a bit while I make a list of my "goods" and such and visit with family. I am going to ask them if I can just give them the documentation to export it as I cross back into the states instead of faxing it, because I figure that would be easier. I was going to ask them at that point how I get back to the states side of the border to export it (I guess I'm assuming you do it there and not at another building) before paying the toll to cross the bridge to get to the Canadian border. They make things too complicated! So yes, please PM me when you have it all laid out!

I spoke to the call centre today to enquire if they also needed a copy of my job offer as additional evidence that it is our intention to move as a family when COPR granted (I'm the sponsor) and they said "No, what you provided was sufficient to meet the requirements for SA. Since this has been approved, no further documents are required from the Citizen/sponsor. If however, the PA gets a job offer in writing, this may help during the process; it cannot hinder."

So the general lay down I mentioned the other day worked for SA as the required evidence - just so long as you sign and date it and are therefore effectively can be held accountable to it (in extremis). As also mentioned elsewhere this is 100% normal and should have been in with the original submission to save time.

Thank you so much for the detail reply, I guess I'm a little surprised as I wrote a statement in our application, I took your advice and wrote everything down and a plan of action, I will be uploading it this week thanks so much

Is there anyone here who is either planning to import their car from the US, or has recently done so?
We will be importing both our vehicles. We are still doing research to find out if we're going to bite the bullet and pay for a vehicle transport company (we live in Texas and have two small children who hate travelling in carseats) or have my husband pull my car (on a trailer) with his pickup from Texas and us drive across together (the kids and I would fly to Seattle and meet him there). So much to consider and plan. It is SO overwhelming. :(

It's very early days for us, but yes, we will be importing our car. Ours is fairly new, and it's on the list of accepted vehicles on the Transportation site, which is a good start. That being said, based on what I've said, it's not trivial - I understand there's lots of documentation to do up front, as well as post-move requirements such as having it moded (DRL, KPH-based spedometer, etc).
