We all knew to expect to wait 12 months, so if the email is saying "May or June", that's still a few months earlier than the 12 month estimate.

We have received your application for permanent residence. We expect to begin working on your application within the next two months. We will need time to review and assess your file. We should be ready to communicate with you again by May or June 2018. We understand that the waiting period can be difficult but please rest assured that we have not forgotten about you. We appreciate the time you have taken to prepare your application"
Has anyone received anything like this before? Any idea how long will it take after this email?

We submitted our Outland spousal application in July. My online account shows that it was received 07/13/2017 and AOR1 was received 09/26/2017. I got my Background Check/Police Certificate Request on 10/06/2017. I got confirmation on 11/03/2017 that they received my BCR and forwarded to the appropriate office. Then I got a request to resubmit passport scans on 12/20/2017. I submitted the scanned copy of mine but I don't have passports for my kids because they are minors and the checklist said passports weren't required, so I hope that doesn't slow things up. It's been 6 months and we haven't gotten SA yet. Has anyone else had to wait this long to get SA?

Yes, sponsor's ECAS is showing that nothing has been updated on it since September and that was when they sent out the request for Police Cert/Schedule A.

no it doesn't. It says "in process" and when I click on that for details, the last update was from when they sent out the letter requesting the Police Cert/Schedule A back in September. My online account confirms that they received and attached Police Cert/Schedule A to my file. They also sent out a letter requesting I resend photocopies of passports so that they could continue processing my application. I received that Dec. 20, but that correspondence hasn't been notated on ECAS either.

I'm having issues with the GCKey. It doesn't show any of the correspondence that has been sent out. I even checked a week after I got the request for the Police Cert/Schedule A in my email and the GCKey never updated to show that any correspondence was sent.

Any suggestions on how to actually get through to an agent with CIC? I've tried the toll-free number as well as the number recommended for those overseas, even using google hangouts, which many have said works with no trouble, but the message I always get says "your call cannot be connected because it's not allowed from non-Canadian numbers".
