2. Can anyone share the lottery dates from last year? If I an not mistaken, it seems there were two lotteries. Also, when someone is selected to apply, how much time are they given to submit the application? Is it 90 days or some other timeline? It's not super clear to me from the 2017 spreadsheet. (Link to 2017 spread in case someone is interested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B_YAyszLcUxbfe0ur7WPZRPJ0y2COpRJSt8Ce19yrhI/edit#gid=1444578034

Some police certificates can be tricky and I am not sure if I should be gathering any documents now or if I should just wait for the lottery outcome.

Thanks a lot for everyone's help.
You will need to wait until 2018 lottery is actually held, before they announce app submission dates. May or may not follow 2017 dates.

Police certificates aren't submitted at time of app, you wait for IRCC to request them after app is in progress.

Also it's pointless to start any efforts on anything until you're actually selected in the lottery.

Makes sense. Any idea what the 2017 lottery dates were and how much time was given between "invitation to apply" and "app submission deadline". I have searched hard but couldnt givd these dates. Realize 2018 may be different but would be good to get a sense of 2017 dates.

Thanks a lot

Hi ,
In the interest to sponsor form, Q2 . says How many family members are currently in family unit?
Count the members of your family unit. If you have a co-signer, add the members of your co-signers` family unit. Include:
I am only sponsoring my mom , since I don't meet the LICO ,I cant sponsor my dad, so my question is how many family members I should submit?
Q3 says: Tell us the number of persons you want to sponsor and their family members (required)
Count the number of parents and grandparents you want to sponsor AND their dependants (spouse or partner and dependent children). You must also include the dependants who will not come to Canada with your parents or grandparents.
So for this question what do I answer, I m only sponsoring my mom , so the number should be 1(my mom) OR 2 (my moms spouse.. my dad....who is not coming to Canada. )

You must include your dad in your family size, regardless if he's coming or not. He would be a non-accompanying dependent.

So if you don't meet LICO including both, you're ineligible to apply for 1 or 2 parents.

If parents are divorced, and I want to sponsor both of them, should I fill one interest form with both their names under and Parents Information section, or should I fill two interest forms, one with mom's name and one with dad's name?

For the later case, will the two interests forms considered duplicates (same sponsor information but different parent information)?

Thanks!

Hi everyone!
My current family size is 2 (me and my husband). We are applying to sponsor my parents - 2 more people.
We qualify for income for all 3 years for a family size of 4.

I am expecting a child in March. So family size will increase when the lottery is already closed.

Technically, at the time I submit my lottery entry I don't lie about the number of people and we are fine on income. But if we win, then by the time we have to submit a full package there will be 5 of us and we are under the requirements for 5 people on year 2015.

I did not find any explanation for such case. What do you think CIC would do if the child is born after the lottery closed? And way after a year of 2015... Would they deny to process an application or should we risk and apply anyways and explain the situation in case we get selected?

Thank you!

Hi,
How much is the annual income needed if i want to apply for one person my mother in last 3 years???
1. How many family members are currently in your family unit? (required)

Make sure to read the line in red above, need to include spouse/partner/dependent children even if they won't accompany your mother to Canada. Add 1+2 and look at the table below

If at the time you complete and submit app you have had your child, your family size will be 5. This means family of 5 LICO for 2015, 2016 and 2017.

It doesn't matter what you enter during the intent form, all that matters is when you submit the app. So some people may be eligible when intent form is filled, but no longer eligible and must waste their spot if picked, if they later don't qualify.

Do you not have sufficient income for 5 ? The form indicates:

"The information you provide in this form must be the same as what you’ll put on your application if you’re invited to submit an application."

so if your family size will be 5 by the time you apply, that is what you should put on the form.

Edited for correctness.

You submit one interest form with both listed. If selected, you will submit 2 separate apps.

I am interested in the same information on dates. If they are asking for 2017 NOA, do you know when will it be abailable for everyone, so that would be some indication for a timeline? Thanks!

I would expect that for 2018, they will require incomes from 2014/2015/2016 to qualify since 2017 tax returns may not be ready yet depending on app submission timing after lottery. You will need to wait until later this year (probably December) before you know if you'll qualify to enter the lottery.

Does your 2015 income meet the minimum income amount? This would depend if you were working for a full year or partial year.
Hello Rob, if I only worked partial year in the first of the three years since I was doing school, and my income was higher than minimum requirement if proportioned to the whole year, can I apply? Can you please give me a reference? Thanks!
