Open work permit ?

Hi Seniors ,

Actually just want to share with you my story

My father is here staying with me as Super visa he has Qatar license and we visited ICBC last month they says My father can drive till 90 days from the entry of arrival.today we visited again at ICBC they accepted his license of qatar and they says he can now do knowledge test after he will be eligible for Class one license road test also .
My question is
Is it possible to get open work permit from inside canada so he can do work here legally?

Hi,

The short answer is No.

To get a work permit, he must find a Canadian employer who is willing to go through the LMIA process which could take several months. Most employers are unwilling to do this.

If he goes through the hoops and eventually gets a positive LMIA, your dad would need to apply for a closed WP tied to that employer. It won't be an open WP
