october 2017 surge was very expected and 17k is below what i expected, i applied 11 Oct.

But according to google spreedsheet i check everyday the numbers for November & December 2017 is very low and same numbers as September, August 2017 volume which means the numbers are same level as pre C6.

I see Sydney, NS office is opening packages as many apps as they can but the main probelem is when it arives your local office they need to move as fast as posible especialy those applicants with no travel history and clean from crime background so they dont create unnessary backlog causing unintended stress to department of IRCC.

Some offices in GTA are very slow like mississauga and scarborough for no reason.

IRCC should make sure they clear all October 2017 apps by 2018 March that they deem non routine or requiring Police Check because if u lived whole past 7 yrs and no criminal history not traveled u just should get test invite.

also test date, decision date and outh date should be same date.
GTA probably has much more applications than any other parts of Canada, it wouldn't be a surprise if they are slow

For me this is huge number , how you consider opposite I don’t know,or you just console yourself. And of that Nb , probably 30% is those ones with multiple applications. I see that is popular piece of action here.

Actually who cares lol
Actually we all care. This forum is to discuss issues related to immigration, refugee and citizenship not to discuss comments by regular people outside the scope of this article. Glad to see all replies are now focused on the article and related matter of citizenship so all of us could benefit from the analyses of experience members.

Well... C24 only existed because the previous government wanted to appeal to the exact same people that are spreading nonsense on that article. Didn't work, but we got our 1 or 2 years delay nonetheless.

The view that the Canadian citizenship (and same for the PR, the refugee status...) is handed to everyone with zero scrunity shouldn't be taken lightly. It has political and real life consequences. Nobody here wants to be told that he's abusing a lax system and lives in Canada because of that system while other countries respect themselves and respect their (true, native) citizens. Also, the sense of belonging to this nation is strengthened when the view that a Canadian is a Canadian is widely shared.
If this is not an issue related to the citizenship, I don't know what it is...

Also, you may consider this side discussion to be useless and you are obvious entitled to your opinion, but this is not a good enough reason to attack complete strangers on a public forum with your multiple exclamation points sentences à la How dare you.
"Guys, let's discuss the core of the post please :)" does the same without the aggressive tone.

Well, the comments from that link also relate to immigration, and those people who made the comments are going to vote in the next election that can very well affect the system, not to mention how they see this also greatly reflects the environment immigrants are facing in their lives. Just because you don't see that as relevant doesn't mean other people are not allowed to discuss - last time I checked this is a free forum, and according to Discover Canada, people are free to express their opinions.

Besides, what's not already known from two months ago (other than the exact number)? the tracking spreadsheets recorded about 5 - 6 times more applications in the month of Oct, because the new residency and language requirement, what's new to discuss?

Some offices in GTA are very slow like mississauga and scarborough for no reason. I think there is some federal staff that just checks in everyday and doesnt do anything productive. They should cutdown on the unproductive lazy workers.

I say why March 2018, they should clear everything by Jan 2018.

yes, not only test date, decision date and outh date should be same date, but also passport date should be same. They should get rid all the intermediate paperwork that they need to do.

I agree. It's not only about the number of applicants but it is also related to the number of staff and how productive they are. Calgary and Edmonton has more applicants than many cities but still faster.

That will mean cutting union/federal jobs, and they won’t let that happen

Of course they wont, I was just building on to the post I quoted. Hey, while our applications are being processed, we have no better job than to advice the govt..o_O
