Digital signature or sign by hand

I am wondering if I sign some document digitally (I have my signature and just insert it on the computer in stead of print the document out to sign) - would that have the same value as sign by hand?

I wouldn't raise this question if my printer didn't break and still being repaired...

Any one please? I have to sign the Schedule A and wondering if it is acceptable to sign digitally. I am hopping to submit my application tonight, it's been dragging for too long.
