Getting Married after AOR or PPR

I'm a PNP applicant (OINP) with AOR 27 Oct. My marriage is scheduled by end of jan. for preparing my spouse documents it will take additional 10-15 working days. can someone please guide me that

1. If i don't get PPR by then, how should i contact cic and supply them the documents?
2. If i get PPR before that, how can i add spouse in that case? since my application would be finalized already and may be visa is stamped too?

is it possible to tell cic before so that they can put my application on hold until i provide spouse documents? How can i get confirmed information from cic or ask them the same things? (If no one is sure about that here).

1 - Raise a CSE to update them on your marital status.
2 - Even if you have your PPR or even your COPR as long as you haven't finished the landing process you can still add your spouse by raising a CSE.

Someone shared following which concerns me. can you please guide in that case too?


1) Please note that if you get married before landing in Canada, your immigration documents will no longer be valid and new ones will need to be issued to reflect the change in your marital status. Moreover, your spouse will need to be added to your application and be medically examined (if accompanying).

2) If you decide to land in Canada and then go back to Nigeria to get married, you will no longer be able to include your spouse in your PR application. You will need to sponsor her under the Family Class category.

1 - Once you add your spouse it is true that you will have to provide her medical exams, PCC, marriage certificate among other forms. I do not know exactly what you asked this person or why he/she is saying that your documents will no longer be valid so I will refrain from commenting due to lack of context.

Thats my concern .... what does it mean by immigration documents won’t be valid.

I know about PCC and medical and point num 2 as well that its true and i understand that. Just problem with the one not getting valid anymore

After leting cic now i received email .. do i have to submit my spouse documents right away or should i wait ? For another email ? Im confused with there email . What did you did ?

Well i got married recently and send email to VO and raised CSE
I Received one email from Cic that contact my VO. And VO SENT SOME GENERIC MAIL. i’m still waiting for any other mail from them.

What email you got? Acknowledgement or any update on your cic account?

I dint send email to VO., but i raised CSE and received conferming email from cic that they have sent my info to VO .. after that on same email they said
To do so, we invite you to send your add-on request through the IRCC webform available on our website. You can attach the following forms and documents in the field reserved to that effect:
After that there were some forms and documents they need ..
Thats y im confused sould i wait for VO or i should send documents from ircc webform ?

Guys, I have a question as well.

My AOR is 11 Sep 2018. My Fiance and I are hoping to get married in January. Hopefully the PPR should come through by then *fingers crossed*

If in case it doesn't come and we get married, how will that affect my case? My fiance is a Canadian PR holder (He went to Canada in Jan 2017)

Will that delay in my process? Will I have to add more money for Settlement Funds?

You would have to raise a CSE to update your change in family composition, since your fiance is a Canadian PR you won't be required to provide his medicals/PCC/proof of funds.

Did you renew your passport with spouse details on it?

Is it required to add spouse details on passport? In such scenario, passport is reissued in my country with new passport number which won't match with number on IELTS test and other details.
